Opps..I misspled my thred title, now wot?

Inspired by the MI:5 thread...why is it that the title of a thread cannot be altered?

Go ahead and fix it. You can change it so long as no one has responded.

Ask the mods to change it. Sometimes they change it without you asking.

hint: say pretty please.

optional: add sugar on top

Random bribes of bacon and syrup also work.

Real answer: You can change it for up to two minutes after you post the thread. After that, only the mods can change it. The reason is simple. Allowing people to change thread titles after the fact would cause lots of trouble.

It could cause a lot of trouble that pure deletion of the thread won't cause.

Imagine this scenario...

I post a thread titled "Would you want a 20-disc ultimate box set for Star Wars?"

The responses come in as follows:
"Yes!"
"Pretty please!!"
"I don't care what it costs, sign me up!!"
"Yes, give it to me!"

Then, I change the thread title to "Would you like to have sweaty butt-love with Ricky Martin?"
