XBOX 360 Subforum?

With the many 360 threads on Video Game Talk and the many more to come, we should have a 360 Sub-forum. What do you guys think?

I think it's a great idea for a couple of weeks at least. I don't have interest in the 360 and it seems like discussions on other topics are literally getting lost in the numerous One and Only Xbox 360 threads. Then consider that all that traffic was generated BEFORE the system came out we'll probably see a greater flux of stuff starting today.

A sub-forum wasn't necessary with the launches of previous consoles, I don't see anything different this time around.

My vote would be no. Unless you want to go all out and just sub-divide the forum into PC/Sony/MS/whatever... As it is there's a subforum here that's rarely used.

Good points made. But Im sure many feel as Pixy and myself when they say that the 360 threads are clouding out other video game topics and at times this is irritating. Not having sub forums in the past is a good point but not having one before shouldnt stop a sub forum this time if it is deemed to improve this forum. There have been times when I didnt feel like going thru countless 360 topics to find a different one and vice versa when looking for only 360 topics.

Well, either way some of the topics popping up are totally ancillary.

Xbox 360: Who walked in and purchased one?
I might be able to get a extra 360
how many hours are you camping out at BB for Xbox 360?
What does your Xbox 360 smell like?
Only XBOX 360 "Not Getting One" Discussion
What games are you picking up with the Xbox 360?

Those are the topics on the front page that could probably be in one of the various O/O threads. But it doesn't bother me one way or the other unless a lot more of these pop up, it just might be easier to let these kind of threads keep to a sub forum instead of trying to tie everything into O/O threads or letting them clutter the main forum too badly (since there will be people wanting to discuss non-Xbox 360 stuff). Oh, and the Video Game Announcements sub forum was worthless from the get-go, I'm surprised it's still there.

If it gets rid of the 6,342 One/Only threads, then i'm all for it.

We did alright without subforums for the PSP and DS launch. I think we'll be okay this time as well. All these threads will die down in about a week anyway, so no reason to separate them for that short period of time.

Considering the little amount of threads the videogame section gets anyway I don't see the point

I don't think we need it. I just think Gallant went way overboard in starting too many one and only threads.

Just make one for game discussion and reviews, and one for general system, getting one etc. discussion and keep flays compendium as a sticky and that's all that's needed IMO.

I started Five One and Only threads to encompass all aspects of the 360 discussion instead of having a million threads on different subjects. Five threads guys. That's 2 more than what you are suggesting. Is it that big a deal?

BTW putting all game discussion for one console in one thread doesn't make any sense. People shouldn't have to sift through a giant thread to find information on a game they like.

1 game thread is ok at launch IMO as there are usually only 1 or 2 games that get much discussion. I mean people aren't going to discuss much about the sports ports or racing games.

Heck the DS and PSP did well for a long time with 1 thread for each console with game discussion within. Really, other than a couple big games, most game discussion still gets lumped in those threads to this day.

For whatever reason, there's not much discussion of games in the forum here which sucks.

There's a ton about deals, anticipation for a game etc. But once a game comes out, few people post about it. Pretty strange actually.

The 1/Only Subforum would be a great idea. Those threads are more than annoying.
