This is the same advice that was given weeks ago, and it DOES NOT WORK for me. I'm not running anything particularly exotic (IE 6). And it usually only keeps me logged in for a few hours at best. And any time I shut down IE and restart (even seconds after logging in), I have to log in again. It is VERY annoying... I'm amazed that there is so little 'official' response to this problem when so many people seem to be experiencing it. This upgrade sucks.

Well, I haven't had any problems, but there is probably one other solution. You could logon, do your thing here, leave that dvdtalk window open, then instead of shutting down your computer, put it on hibernation mode. That might let your keep your cookies. I think if you're experiencing those problems, it most likely occurs if you leave the site or close the window but it might be timed.

been logged out a number of times today, so I'm here for my usual check in how this problem is being ignored.

Don't know what to say. I'm using both Firefox 1 and IE and haven't experienced any of the login problems.

My big advice still is clear your cookies. COMPLETELY. Be sure all your browser windows are closed and then remove any dvdtalk.com cookie on your system.

The thread on the devloper's forum also shows other people having this issue but no solution has yet been provided:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87488&

I'll look into the issue further ....

Logged out again from my work PC. Argh!!!

Update:
I closed my browser and was also logged out. How're the sessions being set for this thing? It used to keep me logged in even when my browser was closed (and, yes, I do have the "keep me logged in" box checked)

I think it's random since the update. The other day I logged in, posted, kept the browser open and was actively viewing threads and 15 minutes or so later I was logged out somehow, without ever getting that "thanks for logging out" screen

I have had absolutely no problem staying logged in with IE 6. And I have just about every security hole closed, such as no running ActiveX.

For those members who are unable to remain logged in, I am pretty sure those sessions aren't time-based. I'm certain that for members with the logon issues can open a window, logon, and stay logged on as long they don't leave that site - even in the same window. For example, you open one window, go to dvdtalk and logon, but if you leave that website - even if it's the same window, those members are logged out. Closing the browser obviously has the same effect. I think I just suggested that members with the issues try leave a window open with dvdtalk in order to stay logged in.

I haven't had any problems with staying logged in though.

Edit: This might help. Close all your windows, then run this program - http://www.ccleaner.com/ to clear all internet cache then restart the pc.

I'm not sure you're responding to me, but I was saying I didn't have to change any of my friggin internet settings just to be able to stay logged in and I have my security settings set even higher than most people.

There definitely seems to be some type of timeout thing. If I keep a DVDTalk page open and idle for a couple of hours, it logs me out. Probably not all problems but from my messing around, this seems to be true.

Edit: Nevermind. I've been posting and reading for the last coupla hours and just had to log in again. It's back to random for me, I can't explain it.

ok, I normally don't complain about the site, but I have to
this is why "if it ain't broke don't fuck with it" is my motto
I was logged in earlier today. Came back after some time, still logged in. Good. Made ONE POST, and as soon as the post went through I was logged out
WTF!!!!!!
I've cleared my damn cookies in both IE and Firefox and get the same random logging out shit

Great for you, but you have to admit 4 pages of people having a new problem since the cutover is not a coincidence (this is a new thing).

Several are using Firefox, which "should" not have ActiveX issues.

I didn't say it wasn't a problem that people are having. I was saying I can't imagine what the problem is because I wasn't having problems with it even with my very strict browser settings.

This also seems like sonething we've seen here before and it eventually got worked out.
