last night through until now it's logging me out after about 2 hours regardless if I close the browser (firefox) or not, even if I keep at least one tab at dvdtalk and refresh fairly often

Preacher 12-18-04 10:00 AM

It has not been consistant for logging me out. Some days it is definitely every 15 minutes and some days it is longer. Hoping it is an issue that will come with an easy fix for the site.

IE won't keep me logged in

Hi! Ever since I upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro, IE won't keep me logged in. I just posted three minutes ago in Video Game Talk and checked "remember me" but it never seems to work (on all sites, not just DVDTalk). any ideas?
thanks!

I have yet to have my passwords saved via IE and Firefox, though

I stay logged in at home, but not at work, WTF?

Ditto for me.

Frankly, I've been posting a quite a bit less since the 'upgrade'. I've actually been visiting the site a lot less too... maybe it's just my stress level at work, with the holidays and all... but I just don't have the patience to log in every FUCKING time I want to post something.

I've deleted cookies, I've done everything. No good. It won't recognize me for longer than a few minutes. And I'm screwed if I ever close my IE windows and restart.

Lampei 12-23-04 08:42 AM

Last night I decided not to login at home to see if that was what was causing me to get logged out (logging in from a different IP and thus getting logged out at work), and nope, I was still logged out when I got back in to work

LurkerDan 12-23-04 11:46 AM

It really would be nice to get this fixed, or at least know that someone is trying to get it fixed. Right now it feels like we're talking to a wall.

Note: I had to log in to post this.

Ditto. I'm having this problem at work and at home on a win98 and winxp machine, both running IE.

QuiGonJosh 12-24-04 05:29 AM

I'm sick of this new version of the board! I'm sick of logging in every friggin time I want to post! :(

MJKTool 12-24-04 12:27 PM

This thread is like one big tease. I keep seeing the pages go up in number, but no answer.

Ranger 12-24-04 05:27 PM

Clearing the cookies and internet cache should fix these logon problems.

Michael T Hudson 12-24-04 06:41 PM

It does not work for me with Firefox. It seems others are having issues as well. This is the only board that has the problem.

Wht do we have a feedback forum where no one seems to respond to a problem that many, many people seem to be having.

Preacher 12-26-04 08:34 AM

It appears to be working right now. My last few posts did not require me to log in at home. Maybe Geoff and staff fixed it for Xmas. I cleared my cookies again for any DVDT related items and now I am staying logged in.

If so Merry Xmas to all. If not Merry Xmas to all.

Michael T Hudson 12-26-04 10:06 AM

I had to log in this morning again.

Seeker 12-26-04 12:12 PM

I have to log in all the time, too. just came here, and found this thread.

Same with me. Firefox at home, IE at work.

I had to log in 3 times this morning so far (including the one to post this).

Michael T Hudson 12-27-04 10:03 AM

Same problem with me. Work stays logged in but no luck at home. It would be nice to have some kind of response in this topic instead of just us having problems.

Lampei 12-27-04 11:26 AM

That's strange. Today it actually kept me logged in at work. I even logged in at home too, so I'm not sure if anything's been changed lately.

QuiGonJosh 12-27-04 06:27 PM

Had to log in...again! This is seriously pissing me off! What's the point of this section on the forums if the Admin's don't read it! Argh!

68ShelbyGT500KR 12-27-04 06:41 PM

The only time I notice that I stay logged in is when I do a restart of the computer. But when I shut down, I have to log in.....Mayby there is a timer involved??

Preacher 12-27-04 07:50 PM

Got into work on IE and I have stayed on for hours. So at home on Mozilla and at work on IE it now appears to work.

Thank you.
