No luck for me with Firefox or IE or Safari.

pdutta2000 12-10-04 08:16 AM

This has to be a site problem...cause I am on 5 message boards that are all running the same version of vBulletin (3.0.3) and this is the only site that makes me login in all the time. I've tried both Firefox 1.0 and IE 6. I also tried the clear cookies thing with no luck.

Lampei 12-10-04 09:02 AM

Same thing's happening for me. Have to login every day.

Using Firefox 1.0, XP SP2.

Deftones 12-10-04 02:07 PM

Geoff, are you ever going to post in here to let us know the status of this "bug"?

Josh H 12-10-04 04:33 PM

Clearing all my cookies on Firefox worked fine for me. I did it on Wednesday and haven't had to log in since.

shaun3000 12-10-04 10:41 PM

Same problem, using Firefox 1.0. Clearing cookies works for a while, but after a day or so it logs me out.

mookiemeister 12-10-04 10:53 PM

I'm using Firefox 1.0 and I cleared cookies for dvdtalk.com and I have to log in everytime. Try this test, everyone. After logging in to dvdtalk.com, close your browser window. Then start a new window and visit dvdtalk.com again. Do you have to log back in? For me, I have to log back in everytime I do that.

Michael T Hudson 12-12-04 01:28 PM

At work with IE I seem to stay logged on. With Firefox no such luck.

darkside 12-12-04 04:55 PM

Tried all the above suggestions, but I still have to log in everytime with Firefox 1.0 Really not liking the new forum. That ad under the first post is bad enough, but this logging in thing really gets old after awhile.

Preacher 12-12-04 06:11 PM

Same here. IE at work. 6.0

mookiemeister 12-13-04 12:46 AM

Not sure if there is any changes on the server-side, but today I noticed I was able to stay logged in after I close my browser and then reopen it to visit this site. It might also have something to do with my posting a message recently. For those of you having problem, have you try posting something and see if you are able to stay logged in after that?

pdutta2000 12-13-04 09:12 AM

I just tried clearing my cookies, then logging in and posting. Still no luck.

LurkerDan 12-13-04 10:39 AM

my home pc was logged in still, after me being away all weekend. But my work pc made me login about 30 minutes after I last logged in. :?

mookiemeister 12-13-04 07:33 PM

You are right. Posting doesn't make any difference. I had to log back in again. It was probably a fluke that I stayed logged in after I posted something earlier. I thought that was it, but I guess not.

LurkerDan, could you tell us which browser you use at home and at work?

maxpower 12-13-04 08:33 PM

No luck here either with FF...tried clearing cookies but nothing. Getting annoying ..especially when it happens in mid-session.

The Cow 12-14-04 01:25 AM

Yup, same problem here with Firefox. Seems to happen overnight for me more than anything. Is there a timeout thing going on?

pdutta2000 12-14-04 08:17 AM

well...I thought it was fixed...but looks like it isn't. Somehow...I got logged out by closing my browser and re-opening it.

kayak99 12-14-04 02:54 PM

An interesting experience.

So far I have NOT dumped my cache or cookies and I remain logged in. I can shut my browser and turn off my computer as many times and for as long as I wish, and when I return I am still logged in.

FYI, I use Netscape and WIndows XP,

Lecithin 12-14-04 04:51 PM

I thought I was the only one being singled out to keep logging in.

Using Safari and a Mac also. (nice to see other Mac users here!)

Did we also lose Private Messages? I can't seem to access that feature any longer either.

mikehunt 12-14-04 06:42 PM

it's random for me. I've had it let me stay logged in for over 24 hours with at least 12 hours between visits one time, and have it log me out after 15 minutes another

Roto 12-15-04 03:37 PM

It started happening to me a few days ago. I was fine for a while after the upgrade, then WHAMMO! :(

cultshock 12-15-04 09:01 PM

It happens to me all the time too, at work (IE) and at home (Firefox). :(

nodeerforamonth 12-17-04 02:39 PM

Mozilla. Cleared cookies. Still have to log in every time.

It wasn't like this a week ago. They must've changed something on their end.

Deftones 12-17-04 05:55 PM

Again, I ask. Geoff, what is the situation with this? Is it been investigated?

J-Dubya 12-18-04 12:36 AM

yeah, this suckekeke
