IF and I do mean IF they're enabled for everyone (or paying customers if/when it goes that way) offensive ones would be removed without question..

I believe it's still being decided if/when they will be enabled for everyone. As my post above says, it could be a option for members who ultimately contribute to the site, or it maybe a option totally turned off...I think Geoff is still watching to see how the server goes with the upgrade, any tinkering with other things as it's not something that's absolutely needed for the forum to function properly..

Some other forums let members have them after a certain # of posts & the Admin has to approve them first... Just a suggestion.

Oh, and if you wanted to save on server space just have the members host the avatars on free image sites.

Making the Admins approve every avatar would be ridiculous.

Though I think that members who have made smilies for the board should be given avatars.

I somewhat agree with the post count restriction, but think that it needs to go a step further, to prevent the pointless posts done for sole purpose of increasing post count.

The extra step could be minimum post count and minimum membership of one year or so. This stops the pointless post padding and rewards members who have been around a while.
