It's optional, and turned off by default. It's also clearly marked when taking the poll.

The site does seem slower on dial-up for me also. Perhaps this will help me from visiting more than a couple of the forums for now on and cut down the amount of time I spend here. Nothing else has so we'll see eh?

abintra 12-07-04 05:52 AM

Is there an option to subscribe to threads one posts in when using the quick reply method? If not, I would definitely appreciate that addition otherwise I'm looking at never using it.

I would like the ability to mark each individual forum as read, instead of only all the forums at once.

Example: When I read the bargins, I like to mark that forum read when I'm done so I know I've been through the whole thing. But there is no option to do that. You can only do that on the main index.

Yes, there is.

Forum Tools -> Mark This Forum Read

One thing that I especially don't like:
The name of the original poster under every thread title. It's a waste of space on the screen, creates a lot of white space, makes every thread extra tall so it's hard to see as many ont he screen at once, etc, etc. I don't read every thread on the forum, I pick and choose. And now I have to do a whole lot more scrolling to do that. Mega annoying. I may need to reinstall the proxomitron to fix this busted layout... :p

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I don't like the way the thread subscription defaults to subscribing to a thread. The default should be no subscription. It was kind of a pain when it was a checkbox; now that it's a drop-down menu, it's even more of a pain.

I was just about to post the same thing, either the font is too big or there is too much cell padding but I like when the thread titles are closer together like they use to be, there is too much space between them and its making scanning the thread titles harder, may also be like otto said, I dont like the authors name right under the thread title, breaks the flow of scanning thread titles.

And I just realized the default can be changed in the user CP. Cool!

I'd change the "report this post to a moderator" back to a text link.

Makes it stand out more.

No new members are going to notice the new little icon. I use it quite a bit and had a hard time finding it on the new forum design.

Anyone know if the quick reply will follow ones choice in the CP or is it set to never subscribe when using the quick reply box? If you are open and/or able to have the user control that I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, is this supposed to be slower on dial-up than the previous version?

I don't like clicking on Other and having the Adult Talk prominently displayed at the top of my screen. This is a definite work issue.

An example is today when Adult Talk Over 18 Only appeared with a subject of 'I want Male- Male'.

It sure makes you scroll down quickly to get it off of your screen.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but could someone bold font the "Sticky" labels so that it is much easier to identify the first current thread in each folder? Thank you.

The smilies, particularly their colors, suck. You can't tell what's what half of the time.

definitly

we should have a smiley thread.. and let all the members decide which ones to keep, replace, bring back, add in

Too much white, it helps readability when every other post has a different background (e.g. grey).

abintra 12-09-04 01:08 AM

Would it be possible to add a quick 'subscribe to thread' option much like what was on the previous version? The way it is now one has to go to the top of the thread->thread tools->subscribe->and then confirm. Before there was a link at the bottom of the thread that one only needed to click once.

bboisvert 12-09-04 03:46 PM

In this new version, when I post in a thread, it turns BOLD (new content). But it shouldn't turn bold for *me*. I've already done this a couple of times... seen a thread that I was reading that is bold. I click it, just to see that the last post is mine. Frustrating.

That bothers me as well. Especially when I'm reading a ridiculous post and then I want to reply only to figure out that I was that dumb-assed poster.

Another thing that I am sure has been mentioned is the poster under the thread title. I have clicked on that several times when trying to click on show last post.
