I concur w/ Gallant Pig, who agrees w/ belboz.
Our new theme song to get the ball rollin' on this premium membership thing could be the same song that ABC shoved down our throats during the NBA playoffs.

since when? ebay used to have an entire adult category that required multiple logins to get to, even if you had the cookie enabled for auto login you had to login at least one more time manually to get to it

Yes, Ebay still has the "Mature Audiences" section, and any items listed there can't have Paypal offered as a payment method (well, they can't state it in the listing at least, but most sellers will still accept Paypal "under the table" for mature auctions)

I highly recommend Authorize.Net. I've used them many times designing e-commerce sites and the experience has always been good. My clients ususally just go to their bank and get a merchant account. The bank then signs them up for Authorize.Net (the payment gateway) and they are linked for you by the bank. IIRC, Authorize.Net charges around 3% per transaction, with a monthly minimum of around $30. The money is deposited directly into your bank account.
PS - I've never used A.Net with vBulletin, but i'm sure its easy. Probably just need to provide vBulletin with your A.Net account number and your transaction key (which you set when you signup with A.Net).

And as joeblow69 said, put the other stuff on a different domain where those interested could still access it.

Paypal has no grey area. Either a site has adult stuff or not. We're square with them now, but I plan to investigate either the costco or authorize options.

As G! said, paypal draws no distinction; contents or links to adult content are viewed as evil. As one of the biggest contributors of adult content to this site, I am absolutely opposed to a so-called "separate but equal" website. I'm willing to bet Adult DVD Empire, one of the biggest financial backers here, would concur with my opinion too. If it's a problem to view a website with ANY adult content on it for your workplace, I suggest you either refrain from breaking their policies or find a more enlightened employer (although, to be fair, you should actually be working at work, not playing on the internet).
In any case, paypal's policy is silly and I'm sure one of its competitors will gladly sign DVDTalk up, something I hope other websites will do to deprive them of any mean old money because of some adult content...
PS: The views above were my own and not an official stance of DVDTalk.

It's not a policy, I can do whatever I want on my computer at work as I'm just a graduate research assitant. I just share an office with a female, who is somewhat feminist, and thus I don't like that stuff popping up.
But I agree that it would probably kill advertising, and that not enough people would sign up for premium accounts (as the poll a while back showed) to make up the difference.

Why? I think you are crazy.
I want to have sex with him.
Hopefully, he goes that way. If not he'll probably end up shooting me.
