If you did, I apologize. I started reading where I left off, saw that OldDude picked up the mantle, and then saw nothing changing.

Sorry.

Honestly, I just got tired of the same old crap. Reading through it, it became obvious that it was going nowhere but where every other thread on MM has gone. Find one of the old threads, reread it, and it is the same.

But let me tell you how it would have turned out. MM defneders would have believed the MM response. MM detractors would have believed the Hardylaw critique. MM defenders would have minimalized the good parts of the critique, and MM detractors would have minimalized the good parts of the MM response.

There....now you all now the ending and can go aobut your days happy that you think you won.
Dude, I get burned out re: these stupid back and forths as well. That's why I've cut back my posting in politicla thread about 80% or so. Still, deleting the thread probably wasn't the right move. Perhaps if you just stopped clicking on the thread you could have helped yourself and not impacted anyone else. Are you advocating nanny board membership?

But you had no problem participating in calling BFC fiction and holding up Hardy as an authority?

Hey, this is thread has the potential to be the longest thread ever in Feedback (provided CRM114 doesn't delete it in a demonstration of megalomaniacal power ).

I have no problem admitting that. I thought I was doing us all a favor. Had no idea the shitstorm it would create.

I honestly apologize to all involved.

After a certain number of replies, you shouldn't be able to delete the whole thread.
I've brought this up before, and I still think it's something the admins should address (if it's possible). While it's good to be able to delete a thread for obvious reasons, IMO the thread creator doesn't "own" a thread. It belongs to the community. I don't know if it should go by a certain number of posts or a time duration or what, but there comes a point where the creator's ability to delete it needs to go away. Perhaps instead of deletion, a thread creator could close his own thread, at least maintaining the posts of others.

That thread was not "the same old thing." In fact, it changed my opinion. But now that it's gone, I can't remember what my opinion is.

Here is my last post..let it begin

Why would he use homicide data from the FBI when he isn't looking at just homicides?
Maybe because it fits his agenda. Moore says that there 65 gun deaths in Australia. BULL. There may have been 65 homicides with guns..but that wasn't all.

That doesn't work if you look at the stats from Australia. There are at least 300 suicides with guns every year in the country.

Take a look at the stats:
http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/[email protected]

FIREARM DEATHS BY TYPE OF DEATH
Number of deaths
(First Number is Accidents) (Second Number is Suicides) (Third Number is Homicide)
1980 62 516 109 700 0.4 3.7 0.8 4.9
1981 36 495 87 632 0.2 3.5 0.6 4.4
1982 48 541 100 701 0.3 3.7 0.7 4.7
1983 40 512 92 654 0.3 3.4 0.6 4.3
1984 32 523 120 687 0.2 3.4 0.8 4.5
1985 35 550 97 710 0.2 3.5 0.6 4.5
1986 28 548 101 696 0.2 3.5 0.6 4.4
1987 27 571 96 711 0.2 3.5 0.6 4.4

No, you did NOT address what Dave asked - not at all. You addressed the very first point - but only part of it. Dave was actually asking about Moore's fake subtitle he inserted to make it look like it was part of the original ad and help his "point". Moore later had to take this out for the home video release.

That's what Dave asked - and you never addressed it.

Be honest dave...how much did OldDude pay you to delete it once Numanoid owned him so on the whole Horton ad montage thing?

seriously, i too am pretty annoyed that the whole thing is just gone...there was some very good stuff in there, and you got exactly what you asked for. I find it funny that when a handful of people responded precisely to the question you asked, and completely debunked hardy in the process, you decided it was just more of the same?!?!??! it was not, and you know it...that was pretty damned lame dave.

and just when we were starting to get along better

I know this isn't the point of the thread, but where was the "complete debunking" of Hardy in that deleted thread? What piece of information are you referring to that was even a partial "debunking" of Hardy?

Honestly asking what you mean here.

The only thing that was addressed was the Horton ad itself, and that the Bush team apparently did have their own Horton ad.

You guys never explained the subtitle at all.

If I missed it before the thread was deleted, I'm sorry - but please, tell me what I missed.

I don't know how you can excuse the fake subtitle - even Michael Moore thought it was a big enough "no-no" that he got caught doing that he took it out of the archive(Home Video) copy of his own film!
