Car Forum Needed?

Yes, I did do a search first.

I was just thinking, we do get a few car threads over in Other every week, and maybe there would be more questions about cars if we had a separate forum for it. Everyone has a car. Just a thought.

It would probably get more traffic (lurking/posting) than the DVD & Home Theater Gear forum. There are still threads on the front page of that forum that haven't been replied to since the 18th. But to be honest nothing beats the ever-popular Book Talk.

I'm all for it. I read the Car Forum over at the Hardforums from time to time. It's interesting, but a little over my head.

It'd be nice to have one for the idiots like myself.

Can we get some word about the possibility of this happening from our lord and savior, Geoff?

I also think this would be a good idea.

I don't think it would be a good idea...

Sbdividing, adding new subforums, makes for way too much too look at. DVDTalk being centered as an entertainment message forum, I just don't see the true demand for a car forum. Quite frankly, the few threads that exist, in relation to the topic, do not (in my opinion) warrant enough for its own subforum.

That's just way to off topic IMO. Most of the forums here can be linked in some way to home theater/entertainment media (i.e. you listen to music, watch sports, play video games, etc on your home theater).

The only exception is other and book talk. Book talk started as Geoff has a passion for books.

I just can't see a rational for a car forum, that stuff should just stay in other IMO. There's plenty of car sites out there for those that want a dedicated place to discuss them.

Why not make it the Auto & Book Forum?

What we really need is "Please do a Carfax for me" forum.

Car forum just doesn't really fit into the themes we have so far in the forum - general entertainment.

Unless there's a huge demand..... I just don't see it as one of the next sub forums that we add.
