I honestly don't mind the ad so much, and I don't blame Geoff for having to use it to support the site.
I commented on it mainly because it was a big shock to see, and two, because I've seen other forums ruined by ads like these. Yahoo groups is nearly unusable to me because you see them about once every three clicks.
I'd hate to see DVDTalk go that direction, and much like I don't buy from telemarketers, I don't buy from companies who use this form of advertising.

I've never complained about ads of here before in the many years I've been here.
But this ad is way more than I can handle. It pops up WAY too much.
I know this site costs money to run and ads are the way to go but this ad campaign is nuts. I sure hope they gave Geoff some decent money for this annoying crap.

Campaign ends at the end of the day tommorow.
Based on the feedback here we're telling advertisers that we will NOT be selling 'intermercials' on our site.
On the flip side, we're always looking for good companies to advertise on DVD Talk. So if you know someone who works at a company who you think should be advertising on DVD Talk, let them know

I was going to wait for the next major version of the forum software, but I'm told there are ways to make it happen with the current version.
