Can we uncensor ****?
I can't imagine that there is rampant use of the word h o m o in a deragotory way, but it is so darn annoying to have a discussion about evolution, apes, milk, etc. and be censored for pointing out that something is a member of the **** erectus family, etc. Hell, erectus is more inflamitory than ****.
Honestly, has it been such a hot button around here that we need to keep **** censored?

We should censor "deragotory".
I don't know what it means, but it sounds bad!

I can only imagine there is a huge round table discussion going on in the mod forum about the pros and cons of uncensoring this.
How is that discussion going?

From: John "57 Varieties" Kerry represents me in the US Senate.
I believe any "huge round table discussion" is doomed to fail since, knowing our mods and admins, it'll swiftly degenerate into a circle-jerking session.

IIRC, h o m o in the Latin means "man". Homme, and Hombre derive from it.
H o m o in the Greek means "same". Hetro means "different".
Not too pejorative.
