Often times it helps to read the thread you're posting in. Honest.

1. I am 100% the real Quentin Tarantino.
2. Just kidding.
3. So I can talk about copying anything, as long as it's not CSS encrypted? Copying video tapes is illegal, says so right in the 'FBI Warning' before the previews. But since it's not CSS encrypted, I can talk about it on the forums? Could I talk about some new program I found that can steal peoples credit card information? I mean, credit cards aren't CSS encrypted, are they? Sure, it's illegal, but not encrypted. Copying CD's is pretty illegal, even if it can be done easily. But DVD's are different, because they have an encryption? OK.

If you're going to have little side rules or secret rules, please post a sticky on the Computer forum saying exactly what we can and can't post about. It'd be much easier that way. Take the time.

I am working with the secret committee to come up with the secret rules. They will be stuck soon.

Are you even reading the replies?

CDs don't have CSS on them, so you don't have to violate the law to make a copy from CD to another medium.
Copying a CD, in and of itself, is *not* illegal. The same actually applies to copying a video tape too. You can make legal copies of these items for time shifting, medium shifting, archiving, and other "fair use" purposes. What is illegal with these is mostly limited to copying for distribution.

So, what you can talk about is *legal* copying. What you can't talk about is *illegal* copying. With a DVD, if you are disabling or tampering with CSS, then what you are doing is currently considered illegal.

I haven’t seen so much whining since the last Luca$ $ux threads I was in.

Ya didn’t see me complain about my thread being closed. Falsely accused, even! With the exception of a reference to the software, and the fact that another poster assumed I was talking about “bootlegs,” I was actually hoping to talk someone into doing a disc label for Howard the Duck.

I guess I forgot that if my thread gets closed, it’s the end of the world?

Jeez, if that’s the worst thing to happen to you – I’ve got the IRS on my a$$. I’ll be happy to trade situations.

I dropped it, now you can do the same. I got my information from another site.

Close thread.

BTW, good luck with the IRS.
