when i use the pull down menu to search dvd talk forum, i don't get any relevant results. no matter what i search for, i seem to get threads with the word terms highlighted, instead of the word i'm searching for. this has been happening for quite a long time now. is this happening to anyone else?

It has been working fine for me the past few days.

when i click on the 'search' button above the pull down menu and search that way, everything works fine. it's only when i try to use the search bar underneath it.

My bad...I never knew you could use that one too. I does appear to be broken.

it'd be great to use because it's faster than hitting the search button and going through that process, but it doesn't seem to work and no one seems to know about it or even care that it's broken.

On every thread list page, on the bottom right side, there is a search box. It's forum specific, and an "any time" date search.

And it works...hope that helps some.

i know about that as well and use it all the time. i just liked the idea of having a pull down menu where i could do an open search on any number of forums. when i saw the new addition, i thought, 'great, here's a nice feature' only to find that it doesn't seem to work. it would be great to have a pull down search menu that included every forum available.

and of course, one that returned relevant results.

Just bumping up as it seems that this function still doesn't work. It really would be a nice feature to be able to search any or all forums from a pull down menu.

And how about moving the lower search field that's on each page up to the top of the page near the "New Thread" button where people can see it?

Aside from bug fixes I'm not planning on any real changes until the next version of the forum software goes gold.
