Possible to start a new username and keep post count?

I am tired of my username, someone else kind of made it for me when I was apathetic and I've been stuck with it for like 4 or 5 years now. If not, that's fine, post count doesn't really matter.

Assuming that an administrator approved the 100% retirement of the old name/acount and the creation of a new account, perhaps the more important option would be to reinstate <i>your original start date</i> rather than your postcount.

If you were attached to the numbers you could perhaps include a note in your profile e.g. "formerly made 200 posts under the name <b>Crazy Aoshi</b>"....

An admin can easily change it if they want to. You'd keep your post count, start date, everything. I'm not sure how often they do it but I'm pretty sure it's been done before.

There is a <A HREF="http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=190076" target="_blank">name change policy</a> linked to from <b>Blade</b>'s mini-faq stuck atop this page.... my suggestion above was simply a (clunky) workaround.

Just change your username (with the grace of the mods/admins)!

We're more hesitant to change people's names when they've accumulated over 1000 posts. Still, drop an e-mail to Blade explaining your situation... he usually takes care of this sort of stuff.

Thanks, I'll ask Blade.

How does one become an administrator? Just wondering...

Usually admins start out as mods first and then are asked to be admins later.

Well, at least that's how it worked with me.
