Do you hate when thread titles are ambiguous and leave you wondering...

...what the hell they are about?

I must admit it can bother me.

Do you feel you're being used like a $10 you-know-what-I-mean as you click to see what it's about? Do you feel the thread starter is being selfish in their pursuit of views and responses?

Should the use of ... be banned?

Can I get a witness? Or should I just take my meds?

I find your entire post somewhat ambiguous.

Are you saying you hate ambiguous posters... threads... and that we should have an ambiguous police...and that you're a ten dollar something...or that you been a 10 dollar something... or that you've been with a 10 dollar something... or that... I don't know... you're thread is way too ambiguous... we need to get the mods to come in and clean it up.

Could he be more vague?

Could the thread be more vague/ambiguous?

Is "..." supposed to mean something (in which case, shouldn't it be "...."?) or is it an elipsis? If the latter, why should it be [BANNED]?

What is a "you-know-what-I-mean"? If it's what I think you mean, shouldn't it cost a bit more than $10? Or is that the point?

I think the meds might be a good idea. Or did you mean "mods"?

Well I meant for it to be sorta ambiguous in the spirit of the subject. I didn't want to try and influence people's opinion, but would like to hear what they think. You know, valid points, etc.

I am speaking of elipsis where people have subjects such as "What do you think about..." or "I think I've got to..." or "Does anyone know about...".

The "you-know-what-I-mean" would be a $10 whore. Yes a whore should cost more than $10 so my point was that you feel really cheap for clicking on the thread.

It might have been helpful if you stated that at the beginning?

Maybe it's me. I don't seem to be getting into the spirit of the thread. Sorry, I don't mean to . I can be quite blonde at times.

I guess I thought that would ruin the ambiguousness of the post about ambiguoity. Maybe things need to spelled out or the intent is lost. What seemed obvious to me did not seem to be communicated.

Yes. That as in titles like, "Want to see a pic of my...". You click on the thread title thinking it's a pic of someone's sister or something and instead it ends up being a pic of his new shoes.

Some of us find that to be more of a peeve than others.

I specifically state in my thread titles when I'm going to post pictures of my sister.

You just leave out the "Paypal clause", which is a whole different animal. Wait, that could be considered a violation of DVDTalk's advertising rules. I could have had you [BANNED] for that stunt.

Your thread was "Wanna see a new picture of my sister?" Are you saying it's okay since you didn't title it "Here's a new picture of my sister"?

Hello everyone. This is my first time to have a thread in Forum Feedback and Support. It is indeed a proud moment.

Any regulars that hang here I might not know?

Who might you not know? Or are you continuing along the ambiguous line?

I wonder if this thread is going to take a little trip around the forum?

Next stop: Books or Bargains?

[only mods can read] Need a thread title change here. "Wondering" to "wandering"? [/only mods can read]

That's a funny idea-nice title change too-but I doubt it would happen.

Are you guys trying to find a new place to pad or something? Four back-to-back posts... the "edit" button is there for a reason.

I usually clear up vague thread titles because I know how much it annoys me to go into a vaguely-titled thread and have the thread be something that I was not at all interested in reading. [BANNING] folks who make thread titles is a wee bit over-the-top, though.

Who are you calling “you guys”? Is this a continuation of the ambiguous theme?

I couldn’t care less about my post count, so you can’t be talkin’ to me.

The reason I had four back-to-back posts was because I was responding to different posts and people.
