Speaking of bandwidth, do we really need to know who is/isn't online?

Just wondering. Seems to me that every time a page is loaded, the system has to run that search (or whatever it does).

We actually don't display who is or who isn't online and have disabled many of the realted who's online feature.

What's the colored checkmark for, then? In this thread, I see "Wizdar is offline" and "gkleinman is online now."

...and so is das, although it lies because Wizdar has that indicator turned off...

I am online I see

maybe some more can be disabled to lower bandwidth some more since it does show the checkmark for who is online.

I updated the template to remove the online/offline checkmark don't know how much load/bandwith this will save but it can't hurt.

We need that. However, we could probably ditch all the text to the right of the user names. Most of it makes little sense anyway, and I'm sure it hogs the bandwidth.
