We need a wrestling forum.

Why is there no wrestling forum? It would be nice if we could talk about the world of professional wrestling. What do you say?

I'm a huge wrestling fan and yes I have been an avid watcher of the WWF for years ever since I was a little kid and I still watch WWF today.

Anyone in for it?

No, no, and no.

This is a forum based on DVDs and things related to DVDs.

There are MANY wrestling forums out there.

Interest in a forum is not the main reason for creating one.

Lastly, you can talk about the world of wrestling in Other Forum now. I have not seen hundreds of wrestling threads.

When hell freezes over, pigs fly, and the unmoveable force blocking a Sports Forum finally moves, I would not be opposed to discussing wrestling in the Sports Forum. While the events are scripted, the level of athletic competition (yes, I said competition) leading up to and during the televised events rivals any non-scripted sporting event. Just as I think a Sports Forum should contain events that are more "athletic competition" than "sport" (figure skating, X-Games, for instance), it should also include wrestling, old school Harlem Globetrotters, and other semi-scripted athletic exhibitions.

das,

It's really not that bad. Geoff is thinking about a lot of possibilities, with a sports forum being one of them. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean that it won't happen.

As I stated in my post in the Sports Forum thread, there will never ... ever ... be a Sports Forum. I guaranteed this 100%. Do you hear me, cruel masters of fate? I have now stated, in public, that there will never ... ever ... be a Sports Forum. What are you gonna do about it, Atropos? I'm calling you out. Spin your thread, and prove me wrong.

I think dM wants someone to prove him wrong. It is a kind of "magic". And it'll probably work!

You do what it takes, and I'm willing to take one for the team on this issue.

I don't think there should be a wrestling forum. If anything, wrestling threads should be encompassed in the Sports Forum if it becomes a reality. Until then, keeping them in Other is best. Besides, as Randy pointed out, there aren't nearly as many threads to warrant the creation of a wrestling forum.

LN & J, I don't think the mods need much convincing on this front.

I'm a HUGE wrestling fan, but this forum does not need a wrestling sub-forum. TV talk, the sports forum (hopefully) or Other is a perfectly good place for a few threads.

In the mean time might I suggest 411wrestling.com or rec.sport.pro.wrestling

Hey, yo! I've got a survey for you -- who wants there to be a Sports Forum?

But wrestling, figure skating, and NASCAR would not belong in a Sports Forum, right?

I'm all for banning WWF talk altogether, but that may be going a little overbaord.

Looks like it did. And people said I was crazy. I possess few powers other than an uncanny ability to watch many televisions at the same time for hours on end. One of those is that whenever I declare anything as a certainty, I am proven wrong. Now that I've learned to twist this in my favor, the universe is in for some big surprises.
