I'd feel bad too. Perhaps you can start threads that don't quite follow the formula of "Guess what/how much ... I have/will tell you ..."

They become complete padfests. You can discuss things in many other ways.

It doesn't affect me at all. Most threads that have been closed on me were either at page nine, were a duplicate thread, or got thread crapped by some people. But, no feelings are hurt here. I trust the mod's judgement.

X as of late it doesn't matter what i post.

When you closed it i was editing it for a 12:30 cut off time for guesses. Then I was going to post a pic of the cash.

P.S. IMO Sometimes it's ok to have fun. If members don't think a thread is fun then they don't have to respond or view the thread.

Maybe you could start out with the goods in the first place. We're not mind-readers here.

You and I know this will still be a padfest. I'm not making policy or anything here, but maybe the stipulation that the thread will be deleted after the assigned time would hold down the major offenses. Maybe not. And that doesn't take into account the lack of the thread being a subject of discussion (or the cost of bandwidth) which has been addressed in threads that you might have missed.

It's not ok as per Geoff's new rule that all threads must involve discussion. Sure you think these pad (I mean guessing) threads are fun, but you're not struggling to pay for the bandwith, a lot of which is wasted by people posting in pad threads, and sitting and refreshing them.

I couldn't resist clicking on the last poll option for old times' sake, but it honestly doesn't bother me. Then again, I don't start many threads.

There's a little something on the end of your nose.

Actually, I fully agree. While the mods might not always make the perfect decisions, at least decisions are being made. The key here is that all the mods seem to strive to make the right decisions whether everyone else agrees or not. Well, except for that heimerSWT character (he's just mean)

No, there's nothing on my nose. I am a mod at two boards, and I can only imagine how hard it is to moderate this large forum. Sometimes I feel that the mods get a bad rep when they close a thread, and that's really lousy. New threads get started semi-attacking the mod about their decision. I guess some people just don't understand that these people are doing all this work and devoting their time for free. I, for one, appreciate the work they do and don't second guess any decision, whether I disagree with it or not.

IMHO, if you disagree with a mod's decision to close a thread, then you are second guessing that decision.

cheers, Tony Block

But if we don't hear about it, it doesn't bother us!

Just to reiterate, we're normally very receptive to complaints about thread closures and moves and what not. If you haven't received a clear explanation in the thread, then feel free to email a moderator (anyone will do...we can easily find out who the responsible party is and pass it along.) And we'll provide a more full explanation.

Having said that, please understand that some types of threads have been moved and closed litterally hundreds of times in the past, so the more common actions won't always get a full explanation (or any even) because it's considered pretty obvious.

And as always, if you're complaining about your specific thread, rather than a general trend (ie. "Why did you close my thread?" vs. "Why do you close all parody threads?") please go through email.

Thanks.

Exactly!

And no, I have not been brown nosing here. I seriously do appreciate the work that they do. Brown nosing doesn't behoove me in anyway here, so why do it? I was just speaking my feelings on it. That's all.
