That's exactly how I see it.

As one of the more predominant women on the board, I really don't have a problem with the pr0n threads. If I'm not interested, I don't look at them. That's what I have to do with all the sports threads that dominate other. The thread titles don't offend me. Would I care either way if there was or wasn't pr0n in other? No. I really have no expectations when it comes to other. People are human and there are people out there who like looking and talking about it. We are in a forum mostly populated by guys and as a result...there is pr0n. So I deal with it and try not to make a fuss over it, just as with other things I may not agree with. There are much bigger things in life to worry about. Just my $.02.

WOW, so many responses!

Thanks to everyone who gave me thumbs up, I know I am in the minority here.

To clarify - I don't care about threads labelled MATURE PICS or whatever, but some of the thread titles as of late have been rude and/or sexist and/or insulting. It makes no difference if the thread about 'fisting' was actually about 'fisting'. The thread title alone is pretty hard core sexual content. I won't even go near the 'training' thread. I am glad the men on this board have a place to share their personal ideas about women and which women are pretty, etc. Can't we keep it tasteful?

From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.
and for a while the picture ads would have adult movies advertised. Don't know if they still do as I have disabled those ads on my home machine to improve loading time (I'm on dialup so loading those pics gets annoying)
Porn ads don't bother me but to bitch about otters posting porn in clearly labeled threads, while not bitching about porn ads is hypocritical

At least you have to look for these threads to see pictures in them. Elimininating them won't get rid of the easiest porno portal on the forum: the fivestardvd link on every single page. click on it and see what that site is like, it makes some of the threads on other look like sesame street and mister rogers.

disclaimer, i have no problem with that link, Geoff's paying da bills. Just pointing out the truth.

I see where you are coming from on the insulting titles thread. Let me say this though, the "training" thread was created REALLY late at night...when the rules are a little more laid back.

Maybe these types of threads could be locked before the morning crowd rolls in or something.

In fact, I'd like to see any meaningful discussion eliminated from the Other and have nothing but nudie threads.

That was my first good laugh over here in this Forum!

Oh wait, let's see if this woman is 'trained' properly or not... Hmm free image hosting sounds good , oh wait its a chicks ass again.... surprise surprise.
Im sorry these threads are just beyond gross and it makes me not want to ever go in there again...I don't mind 'babe of the day' threads, but really - this stuff belongs elsewhere.

Thanks.
Jeeze... no offense to anyone, but are there ANY post in the other that are worth reading? If I was Geoff, it would have flown out the window way back in the days as it probably uses more bandwiths than all the other forums combined. Why not get rid of it and see what can be done to improve the other boards that actually pertain to DVD's and are what this site is supposed to be about.

I disagree Feneant (and no offense taken!). And obviously enough people think there is enough reason to read Other to make it as popular as it is.

There are many varied threads (though things tend to go in waves, so sometimes it appears we are inundated with a certain type of thread). There are threads discussing recent events, tragedies, politics. Sports. Threads where people get advice about cars, mortgages, relationships. And threads with links to various things, funny, artistic, or thought provoking.

The cool thing (as long as we mods try to keep it varied) is that you can ignore the ones that don't interest you, and read and participate in the ones that do interest you (you being the collective you).

Geoff may have his own reasons, but I would suggest that a popular forum is a goal of any ad based site. Popularity equates to numbers of pages viewed, click thrus, and hot counts and member base. All good things when getting advertisers and paying for the site. If Other is popular enough (as it appears to be), then it in effect helps to support the DVD forums.

Also....the reason in just about any Forum I know of, that an Off Topic forum is created, is because without it, you will get more of the same threads in the regular forums.

As far as the importance, the utter (or otter) importance of the farm, you need to look no farther than 9/11/01 when the farm became a blessing to hundreds of people from all over the country. Sorry, but there is no way you can argue against that, imo.

I see nothing wrong with discussing porn or even posting pics as long as it is clearly labeled as being "Mature" and their is nothing too graphic within the title (sort of like a brown bag hiding the cover of the Hustler).

i think there have been hardly any mature threads as of late

i even started a pics thread with clothed gals

i think there needs to be the clear distinction between 'BABE' threads and pics and 'PORN' pics and threads

There are many of us into 'BABE' pics and threads, who don't really care much for 'PORN' pics and threads

i personally like clothed hotties over naked women. It's harder to find ultra hot classy clothed gals rather than slutty porn chicks (as was proven by my recent contest)
