OFFICIAL RULES

-Movies, TV shows/specials, Short Films & Cartoons Count

-The movie or TV show DOES NOT need to be holiday oriented. It could simply take place during the holiday season (i.e. Batman Returns, Gremlins, Die Hard, etc.)

-Although the movie doesn't have to take place during the holiday season, a MAJORITY of the film HAS to take place during the holiday season. No movies with just one scene during the holiday season. If you're not sure, ASK!

-Any holiday from Thanksgiving through New Years Day may count

-A film can only be viewed once, UNLESS you watch it and then watched it again with a commentary

-There is no global goal, shoot for a personal goal. Whatever you want your goal to be go for it. For returning participants maybe your goal should be to beat a previous year's goal.

-Again, like past years there will be a THREE Wild Card option to include movies or TV shows you might watch during the holiday season that is not holiday oriented. Some families have watched movies like Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory every Christmas So anything is allowed, up to 3.

-Specials such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, New Years Rockin' Eve, etc. can count, but you MUST watch the entire special in order to count it.

-PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE number your lists! If you do not number your list it will not count towards the challenge

-It doesn't matter how you see the film, VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, Laserdisc, YouTube, Streaming services, Theatrical release, it can be counted. Just have fun.

-The challenge will begin at dusk on Saturday, November 18 2023 and will end at dawn on Tuesday January 2, 2023.

1. EVERYTHING CHRITMAS (2023) - [Hallmark] ★✰✰✰✰- Phew. My first real stinker of the year. I like Corey Sevier but he couldn't save this nothing of a script and super annoying female lead. Slow, boring, and filled with cliches and stupid messages. Go ahead and quit your job! Everyone! It'll be fiiiiine. The female lead acted like a 12 year old.

NOVEMBER 19
2. MYSTIC CHRITMAS (2023) - [Hallmark] ★★★✰✰- A better than average Hallmark. I enjoyed the marine biologist career and the seals. The two leads were both engaging and cut together.
3. A WORLD RECORD CHRISTMAS (2023) - [Hallmark] ★★★✰✰- (3.5 stars) - A simple family story, but truly top notch for Hallmark, from the actors to the script.

NOVEMBER 22
4. HOLIDAY HOTLINE (2023) - [Hallmark] ★★✰✰✰- My husband hated this. I thought it was just ok. It features a Brit pretending to be an American on a "turkey help hotline" who helps a single dad make a turkey for his daughter. I mean... talk about an elevator pitch. The execution was just ok.

5. CATCH ME IF YOU CLAUS (2023) - [Hallmark] ★★★★✰- Fun holiday caper/comedy. Love Luke McFarlane
6. A SEASON FOR FAMILY (2023) - [Hallmark] - ★★★✰✰ - I enjoyed the adoption family storyline, but it took too long for the male lead to get his head out of his bum.
7. 12 DAYS OF TUDOR CHRISTMAS (2023) - PBS (via Amazon) ★★★★✰- Fun documentary on the way the Tudors celebrated Christmas

NOVEMBER 24
8. GENIE (2023) -Peacock ★★★★✰- My favorite premier of the year so far. Love Melissa McCarthy. Very funny and heartfelt.
9. LETTERS TO SANTA (2023) - Hallmark ★✰✰✰✰- The only good thing about this was the male lead. The couple-on-the-verge-of-divorce storyline was depressing and the script boring.

NOVEMBER 25
10. HAUL OUT THE HOLLY: LIT UP (2023) -Hallmark ★★★★✰- Not quite a great as the original one last year, but still a cut above most Hallmarks.
11. CHRSTMAS WITH WALT DISNEY (2009) -Disney Plus ★★★★✰- Some nice vintage Dsney stuff in here along wtih personal videos and photos from Walt's family.
12. THE NAUGHTY NINE (2023) -Disney Plus ★★★★✰- Super fun family Christmas movie. Dare I say instant classic?

15. A MERRY SCOTTISH CHRISTMAS (2023) -Hallmark ★★✰✰✰- (2.5 stars) A decent story, lovely Scottish castle, and Lacey Chabert were all good. I disliked the brother character and actor.

16. A BILTMORE CHRISTMAS (2023) -Hallmark ★★★★✰- (3,5 stars) I enjoyed this time travel romance. The Biltmore setting was awesome and loved the vintage Hollywood storyline.

19. CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS (2004) -(VOD) ★★★★✰- Loved it. Jamie Lee is so funny.

20. MY NORWEIGAN HOLIDAY -Hallmark ★★★✰✰- Cute. I enjoyed the Norweigan setting and the ex Oympic skiier storyline.

DECEMBER 4
21. A NOT SO ROYAL HOLIDAY -Hallmark ★✰✰✰✰- I enjoyed this fake royal romance for most of it. But the ending was a total trainwreck.
