Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2023 Horror Challenge

Just a quick reminder that the pre-challenge thread will be going up in a few days (7/10 last year) followed by the themes list shortly afterwards (7/13 last year).

Thanks to all the subset volunteers so far; we're currently at 16, but could always use more. For comparison's sake we were at 17 this time last year, and went on to a total of 25.
• If you have any Indie/Arthouse and/or Comedy Crossover suggestions feel free to go ahead and share 'em.
• Same goes for the 1980s Video Companies Spotlight choice.

Spoiler:

The Critcononline website is back! That, or VHS Collector are great for distributor choices.

So far we've used Vestron, Embassy, Media Home Entertainment, Prism Entertainment, Thorn EMI / HBO Cannon / HBO Video / Lightning Video, VCI/United and Wizard Video.

I've been on a Criterion kick for the past month, and thoroughly enjoyed Blithe Spirit (1945) starring Rex Harrison, and would suggest it for the Arthouse.

I welcome thoughts, of course.

I liked this last year. I’ll play some roulette.

I’ll happily play again. Since I’ve already begun watching horror on my own. And I don’t do the arthouse challenge

I'm also definitely in for some roulette.

I like the first idea, but I'm open to whatever!

I can't speak for IBJoel but this might account for some of the concern; I've certainly enjoyed DVD Talk over the years and hope for the best.

It's been a long time coming, but this site is nowhere near as vibrant as it was a decade ago. Weve lost a lot of regular posters over the years, and the number of threads has diminished. I remember a time when the deepDiscount 20% of sales would spawn pages and pages of posts.

I just took a 5 month vacation for all my forums (mostly this one) and came back today expecting to need hours to catch up. But wow, looks like I missed almost nothing.

More just that IB notoriously pays very poorly and I've been looking for a new job for like 2 and a half years

^I want to like your post but I don't want it to seem that I like that you are poorly paid.

Hopefully if you find a new job, it wouldn't keep you from still hanging out and posting here.
