Added to notepad.

That reminds me, the wiki is a good place to put suggestions for next year's challenge. That way nothing gets overlooked, and I can port them over to the feedback thread when I post it in November.

And thanks to Trevor for alerting me it actually exists, despite it staring me right back in the face. It's actually really useful.

^ We should probably try to minimize using those, between it being illegal and alyx having to pay for the bandwidth we use.

It's the same as watching films uploaded to YouTube, unless you're paying for a rental, which I did one year for Psycho 2/3. I try to buy the BDs for subset films whenever possible. But each year there are a couple films on the list I just can't find otherwise.

If anyone's lucky enough to have a Hastings nearby, go take advantage of their going out of business sale now! I just scored a ton of dirt cheap boutique label horror from Scream Factory, Olive, Kino, and Arrow. Even found Rue Morgue magazine for $1. It almost resembled the Hamilton offerings, but not quite that impressive.

Spoiler:

R.I.P. Hastings. I'm gonna miss the hell out of that place.

I've heard Halloween day is the last day although I'm sure it varies by location.

You all spoke and I'm listening so I'll be dividing my prizes up 1 to a winner. Still working on gathering stuff but I'm hoping to have 6-8 prizes to give away.

Ayone who gets TCM can use the TCM app to wafch on demand - so (hopefully) making Jawsploitation Day AFTER they're aired will mean all the Jaws' are available at any time during the day (and before/after for a few, too).

These documentaries are really a lot of fun, this is my first time watching some of them. Watched "Just Desserts: The Making of Creepshow" last night. The part with the cockroaches is really horrifying, they don't even really show the bugs, it's just the behind the scenes stories(!)

The new remastered Carrie bluray is getting great reviews. I wasn't planning to double dip on this. I have the original DVD that works good for me. But if it's as great as they are reporting, I may have to change my mind.

Work hasn't been good for me lately so i'm looking forward to the distraction of this years horror challenge. I'm really looking forward to it. planning on a goal of one more than the days of the month. With an endless high total count.

Hastings was an epic store in it's prime with some excellemt deals online - there's one 45 minutes away from me and Im trying to decide if it's worth the drive; seems like it might be.

Doesn't cost me anything for bandwidth, just (a nominal amount) for the extra storage space on my gdrive. So stream away!

(As for legality, that's a viable concern and I simply ask that the links not be passed around widely beyond this board; that should keep things contained enough not to get me in trouble. But DaveyJoe's right -- it's really not any different from most of our youtube/dailymotion links. And I think people are not taking advantage of it in a deliberate attempt to not pay money for the movies, it's just an added resource.)

I've got all the movies assembled but am still working on getting them all uploaded. Hopefully I'll have links for you tomorrow!

I know it's really going to be helpful for us in Canada since we don't have anywhere near the streaming options those in the USA have. I've been buying everything I can get my hands on, but there are going to be about half that I can't get. I've already purchased (this month): Halloween 2, The Vampire Bat, The Exorcist III, House of Dark Shadows, Chopping Mall, Dracula (1979), Krampus and Witchboard. Those combined with what I own and what I could find streaming in Canada and a couple of library offerings leaves me with 14 that I can't source.

I could have also bought Southbound, but $20 for a DVD just seems too outrageous for me. I bought a couple of these on DVD but that was because they were cheap.

There are alot of double features available from archive.org:

Shocker Internet Drive-in

There are 75 double features available. At least 1/3 of them are horror double features.

I just scored a ton of dirt cheap boutique label horror from Scream Factory, Olive, Kino, and Arrow. Even found Rue Morgue magazine for $1. It almost resembled the Hamilton offerings, but not quite that impressive.
Sadly, we don't have Hastings in the DC area, although I used to buy books there at the Flagstaff, AZ, store back in the early 90s when I worked at the Grand Canyon. Hamiltonbook is my online equivalent; I've been stocking up on horror movies from them, and they have great deals on books.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Comet TV is showing some Godzilla movies, Rodan, and Outer Limits all day today. Terror of Mechagodzilla is on right now. http://www.comettv.com/watch-live/

I know this isn't horror either but I watched Pit Stop last night and Sid Haig was pretty great in it. The whole movie ended up being really good. I was hesitant at first because it looks like a race movie but the drama and stuff ends up being outside the races. They show some actual racing but those scenes aren't so long as to make non-race fans get bored. On the other hand, if you're coming in to watch a race car movie, you'll probably be disappointed by all the acting and story.

I am now, thanks! That honestly blows the SiriusXM Halloween channel out of the water.

Speaking of audio, here's a good way to kill 45 minutes. Somebody uploaded the old Freddy Krueger Hotline stories:

That was the first thing I thought as well after listening to it all day. The variety is awesome.

If anyone else has any other suggestions or horror related podcasts, let me know. I am strapped to a desk for the month for work so I will have a lot of listening time and would like to mix it up some. I am very new to internet radio as well as podcasts. I dipped my foot in the pool awhile back but just never have paid much attention to either.

I have mediamonkey as a player on my PC but not very impressed with its internet radio layout like I am with all its other features. But I may be doing it wrong. Haha.

TuneIn Radio has a podcast called Castle Dracula. I have TuneIn on my Android tablet, so if you have an android phone, and probably an IPhone, you can get it.

I listen to podcasts almost everyday, I'll have to find some good horror ones for October.
