Re: Last DVD you watched?
Jean-Luc Godard's Vivre Sa Vie (1962): took two viewing for me to get over the 'Godard-isms' placed by the director between me and his movie/muse/wife. Once I 'got' it though this is one hell of a showcase of Godard and his then-wife Anna Karina at the peak of their craft/relationship. Gorgeous B&W cinematography from Raoul Coutard is neatly preserved for posterity on Blu-ray.
Godard's Band of Outsiders (1964): one of the most accessible of Jean-Luc's flicks (not even Godard can suck the joy and fun out of our trio of rebellious youths dancing 'The Madison' in unison) that both pays homage to and deconstructs the 'heist' genre. A blast!
Jacques Tati's Playtime (1967): while technically amazing (the set/art desing of 'Tativille' is as epic in its scope as those pre-CGI 'cast of thousand' epics) the humanity of Monsieur Hulot and every other human character is lost in a sea of glass and cold colors. The HD transfer isn't poor but it's still too far removed from the 70mm original negative to have the visual impact of a "2001: Space Odyssey"-type spectacle.
Nicolas Roeg's Walkabout (1971): the ending of this movie hit me like a ton of bricks even though I'd already seen it. Fantastic, natural colors (a bit soft and faded but accurate) and great new bonus features (interviews with the three leads) puts the old Criterion DVD to shame.
Caro & Jeunet's City of Lost Children (1995): it was OK but One and Miette were poor cipher leads; the cast of weirdos and art/set design are highlights but the flick's wild narrative runs out of steam toward the end. I'll stick with "Delicatessen" and "Amelie."

Never Sleep Again - Absolutely amazing doc on the Nightmare on Elm St. series. I sat through all 4 hours and didn't even notice the time go by, that's when you know you're watching something great. A must-own for all NoES fans.

I'm a big fan of the original, and really want to see this doc, but figure I should watch the sequels first. Have only seen one or two of them. The OCD in me won't let me watch anything 'out of order'.

I'll second what KillerCannibal said. The documentary is really amazing. I loved it. Extremely insightful and it was pretty funny, to boot. But you've definitely got to watch the movies first. And then after the doc, you'll probably want to watch them again.

The next 3 episodes of X-Files (S5): All Souls, The Pine Bluff Variant, & Folie a Deux. Only one more episode left in S5 and it's off to the 1st movie Fight The Future. -kd5-
