Last DVD you watched?

A.I. Artificial Intelligence - a very good blockbuster-ish thought provoking science fiction drama. Just wish there was a significantly improved Blu-ray or DVD transfer floating around.

"Blessed Is the Match: The Life and Death of Hannah Senesh". It's a documentary about the World War II parachutist-agent who became the national heroine of Israel. Definitely worth a watch.

Maniac (1963) - My least favorite film from this fantastic set so far (for all 3 of you with great taste that own this besides me). Really enjoyed the lead, but the plot twists were sloppy & the actress that played Eve was awful.

Last night, my wife and I watched Kissing a Fool. She'd seen it before, but I hadn't and it counted for my Make-Your-Own Challenge since it was from my Unwatched Pile. I picked it largely because we'd recently streamed all four seasons of My Name Is Earl and it features Jason Lee. I found it predictable, but likable. The only bonus materials are some production notes, cast bios and a non-anamorphic trailer, which I'm glad I watched after the film because it was predictable enough without having it all spelled out for me beforehand.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child - My little neice and nephew wanted to see it. Put me to sleep after about 45 mins LOL. Still like the movie though.

Haven't Posted in a While; Long List!
What I've watched in the past few weeks:
The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) - excellent; hard to believe Maria Falconetti never acted again.
The Bicycle Thieves (1949) - the last five minutes will crush your heart; great performance from Enzo Staiola as little Bruno.
The Third Man (1949) - gets better with each viewing. Glad to have it in Blu.
Hobson's Choice (1953) - intimate Lean a nice change of pace from 'epic' Lean; Laughton's da man but the whole cast is aces.
The Ten Commandments (1956) - Heston, Brynner and Edward G. hog the attention but, for my money, Cedric Hardwicke's Sethi rulz this flick.
The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962) - without the "MST3K" riffs this is quite a seady and immoral piece of exploitative cheesy schlock.
The Sound of Music (1965) - flick rocks but 'Edelweiss' doesn't deserve its accolades as a great tune (it blows!).
The Honeymoon Killers (1969) - bad picture/sound + weak acting (except for the two leads) = bad flick.
The Passenger (1975) - seen it four times and still pick new little nuggets of 'it' with each viewing. What an ending!
Airport 1975 - not even Irwin Allen cheapened out on talent, production values and sizzle like Universal did with this boring, predictable clunker.
Airport '77 - better than '75 (even if Jack Lemmon is clearly in it for the paycheck) with actual SFX and money thrown at the screen.
Clash of the Titans (1981) - bad HD transfer but a great old-school flick.
MST3K: The Crawling Eye (1989/1958) - first nationally-televised "MST3K" starts slow but ends strong. Legacy starts here.
MST3K: The Robot Vs. The Aztec Mummy (1989/1958) - baby-steps from previous show (see above) but still early. The promised fight between the titled characters doesn't happen until movie is almost over (boo!).
"O" (2001) - remember when Josh Hartnett was a good young actor with a promising career? Here's a reminder.
The Reader (2008) - pure Oscar bait but Winslet's committment to her role and honest-to-goodness mainstream eroticism save it. Ralph Fiennes looks like he wishes he were anywhere but on the set of the movie.
Cinematic Titanic: The Alien Factor (2009/1978) - wasn't sold on the 'live' riffing format of "CT" but this is really good. Not 'Danger at Tiki Island' good but worthy of the "MST3K" legacy.

GIA - Unrated (Angelina is HOT!)
Thriller - A Cruel Picture LE
Rush Hour 3 SE - I'm a bit confused after watching this why so many people seemed to slam this 3rd installment of the Rush Hour series! IMO it had great action and comedy, an appearance by the great Max Von Sydow and a hilarious cameo by director Roman Polanski. As a fan of the Rush Hour series I thoroughly enjoyed it! The feature length documentary was also very enjoyable! Just my opinion-
