Remember how the DVD of The Fifth Element was considered a reference disc for so long? Just popped it in for the first time in at least dozen years and it still looks damn good (PS4 Pro and 60” LG).
And Ruby Rod seems kinda tame after seeing the YouTube stars of today.

Finished the Hitchhiker's Guide miniseries this evening, followed it up with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005). We decided the miniseries doesn't hold up very well, and that the Hollywood production was more polished and entertaining.

I watched Blue Underground's edition of 'The Silent Flute' (1978). It's also known as 'Circle of Iron'. It was originally written by Bruce Lee and intended for himself to star in, but he was deceased when the film was produced. David Carradine stars in the multi-character role. He was pretty darn good as the "monkey man", I thought.

Starting to sell off some of the collection. My Cars DVD has a few scuffs so I put it in to check it.
First of all, for a DVD it still looked amazing. The sheen on the cars was like it was right there.
Anyways, I watched the opening sequence, which remains a masterwork of editing and character introduction.
Then I skipped ahead to the final race and the character growth and absolute sportsmanship by McQueen is just fantastic.
I just wish the stuff in between wasn’t such a bore.

I saw this in the theater back when we could do so safely and I am so glad I have this. A well-done lost in space mind blowing film.

The Mysterians.
Some great model work, but some pacing issues. I dozed a few times but I'm also on Rx painkillers that are making me feel off.

Wow much much better the 2nd time around. What a top-notch movie and special features showing the challenges of the sets and design.
