CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Season 2 Episodes 16-20
I put in and tested all of the DVDs I bought recently or just got in the mail. I always do this to make sure there are no problems with them and to see what extras are included (many times not listed on the cases).
I just watched all of the trailers and TV spots on all four Die Hard films.
I noted a "Digital Copy" on the 2nd disc of Live Free Or Die Hard. Sadly the Die Hard Ultimate Collection box set doesn't even come with the 16-digit code to activate the movie (which probably expired long ago anyway.) I e-mailed Fox about it in any case.
Well I am off to go watch more CSI.

The Stepfather. The one with Terry O' Quinn. Fantastic thriller, namely because of his riveting performance. I believe he elevated the film ten-fold. I'll pick this one up on Blu-ray when it goes on sale sometime.
Rec. Enjoyed it quite a lot. I'm honestly not sure if I liked it more or less than Quarantine though. I think both films have their own strengths and weaknesses. I happen to think the beginning of this film is MUCH better than Quarantine's, but I thought some of the lighting/cinematography helped add an extra layer to the dread in Quarantine as opposed to the clearer lighting seen in the majority of Rec. In any case, both films concluded quite effectively (IMHO).

Friday The 13th: Part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan - Deluxe Edition I watched the film first. I always liked this film. Didn't like it as much on this viewing. (Jason is really teleporting all over in this one.) Then I watched the extras which were interesting. But then I watched the film again with commentary on by the stars. Very entertaining. They are a blast! I always thought Jensen Daggett regretted doing this movie. She had complained about the glass nearly cutting her from the port hole scene in many interviews. But she is a lot of fun in this commentary. She loved doing this and even attends conventions!
Even if you didn't like the film and maybe only picked it up to complete the series. You may want to watch it with commentary on. It's a lot of fun. Kane Hodder is very informative. Scott Reeves is hilarious and Jensen Daggett is so much fun on this commentary.

THE EXPRESS: THE ERNIE DAVIS STORY
A friend of mine brought this movie to me and told me to watch it. Never heard of it. Stars Dennis Quaid...Charles Dutton also makes an appearance as the father of Ernie Davis.
Great movie...great sports movie.

What We Do Is Secret - I liked this even though it follows the predictable bio-pic template
(I guess it helps if you are a fan of old school punk). *** out of ****
Miracle at St. Anna - I like Spike Lee's films, but this was very disappointing.
There are some bright moments that are overshadowed by too many cliches & coincidences. *1/2 out of ****
