I watched Home Alone 1 & 2 today. I usually wait until it's December before I watch those, BUT, since I have this new job I can't get a lot of movies in other than the weekends, so I watched them today. Hopefully I can get a few more movies in tomorrow before I head back to work Monday morning. I also bought tickets to see It's a Wonderful Life in the theater next Saturday. Complete with Karolyn Grimes (a.k.a. Zuzu Bailey) in attendance.
Currently watching the Christmas special of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

So, I taped Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow after watching the short preview posted earlier in the thread. It looked like a cute little show so I gave it a shot. Well...I think the preview was a lot better than the actual movie. This was definitely geared towards very young children. The plot is fairly simple and very predictable. The acting was pretty basic as well. This is not going to become a holiday classic by any means.
There was one good line-"you would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for us meddling kids!" and that was about it.
Earlier tonight I watched MST3K: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Sync'd up with Travis (don't think he's doing the challenge but he hadn't ever watched it before) and that was fun making fun of it with someone else.

Meant to post this in this thread instead of comedy:
Since I previously watched Planes Trains... for a challenge, I figured I'd finally get around to the "other Thanksgiving movie," Home for the Holidays. Holly Hunter is always watchable, but it was pretty meh overall.
I just requested a sticky on the list thread.

I started today's challenge viewing as soon as I woke up. I got a phone call just before 6, so it was perfect timing, as I saw a Christmas episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was coming on to Pivot.

Started to watch a movie I taped off Hallmark and it only taped half...of course I didn't figure this out until it stopped halfway through a conversation! Luckily it is a Hallmark movie, so it'll air again, hopefully this time, the 2nd half tapes! Finished off the night watching some holiday cooking shows.

^ Slightly related, but that reminds me of how I've been watching some of my old DVD-Rs of shows I taped off cable years ago. I would always try to hit the cable info button at the beginning of every show, to have that episode name and blurb for all posterity. My fast forwarding too far to skip commercials and having to rewind are fun; and in my efforts to squeeze as much as possible onto a disc I sometimes have items spread across two discs.

Not sure how much challenge viewing I'll get in today. I was having a good day, but I just got home from physical therapy, and found our cat got outside when I left and in the process of trying to follow me, my ride ran over him. I just can't get into challenge mode today.

Watch Disney Channel and Watch Disney XD both added a bunch of Christmas shows and movies. Apps are available on Roku, AppleTV, FireTV, Chromecast, Android and iOS devices. Both require sign-in with a TV provider.
Watch Disney Channel has the most holiday stuff. There's 16 episodes from current shows, 27 episodes from classic shows, and 4 full-length movies:
Good Luck Charlie, It's Christmas! (2011)
Full Court Miracle (2003)
'Twas The Night (2001)
The Ultimate Christmas Present (2000)
Watch Disney XD has 14 holiday episodes and a 1-hour animated yule log.

I shouldn't admit that I kind of like Good Luck Charlie, though I haven't seen it in a while. My kids went from Disney Channel to Food Network to HGTV to binge-streaming.

I should be getting my cord tomorrow so I may make this my first watch. I have the first two Charlie Brown specials, but not the 3rd.

I am on a Hallmark movie binge on my day off today. Ice Sculpture for Christmas, Tis the Season for Love, and Signed Sealed Delivered for Christmas. I will have to check out the other Signed Sealed Delivered dvds, the movie is really good. A very heartfelt and touching story.

Got a bit of a late start to the challenge today, as I spent most of the day in bed. But I just finished my first viewing of the day with a Christmas concert, Faith Hill: Joy to the World, on Dish Studio.

Got the cord so I hooked up the Roku tonight. So easy-still waiting for the other shoe to drop! Watching that Charlie Brown special for the first viewing. Thanks for the rec, TheBigDave!

That happens when you stream all those wonderful things you find and/or fall asleep watching a TV series and the system keeps feeding shows while you're asleep (I did that one to my son accidentally - "watching" Star Trek all night - and his Netflix kept episodes coming because no one said "stop") causing you to exceed the "data cap" artificially imposed by your ISP. I love how they push the service telling you "Everyone can be on and streaming at the same time!" but fail to mention that if you do so you'll hit your cap in a couple of weeks and it'll cost significantly when they add a few more MB to get you through the month.

I think when I go to my VA appointments on Monday, I'm going to try to see my doctor too. On Thanksgiving, my dogs knocked me over, and I fell hard on the ground. I'm beginning to wonder if I dislocated my elbow. Arm hurts, and my elbow has been popping a lot ever since.

I started today's challenge viewing with a behind-the-scenes look at some of the Christmas movies, Dish has on PPV this year, on Dish Studio. There are some good ones, but nothing I'd pay for, since most are on regular channels.

OK, it's barely even slightly Holiday-y, but they mention Thanksgiving and then the final fight is the Christmas Show in Reno, so I'll mention it here.
I had never heard of ...All the Marbles, no idea what it was about (female wrestling, it turned out), but it was there on the TCM app, so I watched it. And enjoyed it quite a bit. Until the final epic fight, where I think it may have climbed up my personal list of great films to an incredible height. That final fight was phenomenal. I have no idea if there were stunt people or just exceptional choreographers or what, but that was fantastic. TCM says "comedy", clearly it's sport and maybe it's Holiday-ish... either way I will be watching this again. Really, really, really good.
