Re: 5th Annual August Animation Challenge - Discussion Thread
My list is finished. I didn't watch much this time. Another month where I didn't feel like watching stuff until late in the month. Then I didn't have time to watch very much.
I still have a few unwatched Disney DVDs in my HT that I hope to get to this week.

Thanks, everybody! It was a fun challenge to host! I'm glad that so many people enjoyed it as well!
Is there any changes to the checklist anyone would like to make/comment on? I do plan on adding two studios for next year: Rankin/Bass and DreamWorks. Any comments for or against before I do?
Also, I'm giving one last notice to a few people who haven't updated their lists and haven't posted in the last few days here in the discussion thread.

3. THE SMURFS: Season One, Volume One
4. THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: Season Two
5. THE ESSENTIAL BUGS BUNNY
Thanks again to Goldenwheels for offering them!

I had a blast during this challenge and was able to watch quite a bit of new stuff. I suppose the highlights included watching the fourth season of The Venture Bros. and the excellent anime series Le Chevalier D'Eon. It was also nice to revisit some good Disney and Pixar films as well as some Studio Ghibli films. Looking over my list, the only disappointment may have been Epic, a beautiful film filled with tired jokes, an uninspiring story, and some of the blandest leads I've seen in a long time.
Thanks to the LJG765 and GoldenWheels and everyone else who participated!

My list is finalized. I managed to finish off three different series this year, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Kill La Kill, and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, along with a sprinkling of movies, shorts and stand-alone episodes.

Re: 5th Annual August Animation Challenge - Discussion Thread
the two feature length films that wowed me were
Space Pirate Captain Harlock - I want the import 3D bluray now! that took a huge 'ol royal crap on the stupid live action version of Space Battleship Yamato by a landslide!
Wrinkles - from the director of the animated film The Illusionist - really really sad and very adult in tone and story
~
I didn't think the unrated version of Ted could be any more cruder and crass - but it was - still made me laugh seeing it for a second time.

Alright! The time has come from the winners to be announced!
I used a randomizer to pick winners (and a few backups just in case).
The winners are:
1. acubfaninmd
2. lisadoris
3. Ash Ketchum
4. Cardsfan111
5. hbsvb
I'm going to let the winners pick their own prizes, first person (acubfaninmd) first, please. So this doesn't go on forever, please get back to me within the next 2 days (by Sunday evening). If I don't hear from someone, I'll go on to the next person (I drew more numbers than I needed) in line.
If the winners want, they can list their choices in order of what you'd like if you don't want to wait for the person of ahead of you...
Once prizes have been picked, please send your name and address to either GoldenWheels in a PM or to me and I'll send it on for you.
Remember that you do have to live in the United States to be eligible.

Cool! I'm a runner up!
I chose THE SMURFS: Season One, Volume One DVD (my daughter and granddaughters are huge Smurf fans and I'd risk bodily harm if I did anything else!
). PMs sent to LJG and Goldenwheels.
Thanks again!
