Re: DVD Talk New-To-Blu/DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread

Mao or anyone else...I know I'm stuck on this, but I'm hearing now (through rumors of course) that SLP will be released on the 15th of March (making it a Friday release).

It would keep it away from the monster day/week of the 19th, so is this the likely release date for Silver Linings Playbook?

Thanks!

That was the Intended date. however I think it depends on the Academy Awards if it loses out 3/15 it is. if Lawrence wins best Actress (my personal pick) then dont be supprised if it ends up in either late march or early april

Thank you very much. I'm obviously not in your business, but I really am kind of shocked they'd even pick mid-March.

If Les Miserables also ends up in mid-March it will go against everything I recall seeing studios do in the past, because they'll all be competing with each other with way too many titles for just 2 weeks (imho).

to kind of a weird deal, Both Fox and Universal have 1st look deals with Relativity. so in the case of House at the end of the street and Movie 43 Fox took them

however Savages and Safe Haven wound up with Universal

Wow, April 30th for Silver Linings Playbook. How terribly disappointing to have to wait that long to own.

This is why I am so glad BVHE doesnt do the whole Digital date, followed by the Street Date. its getting really confusing
