Anyone else have TV show suggestions for sake of discussion? So far I've seen mentioned:

American Horror Story
Dexter
Tales From The Crypt
Friday The 13th: The Series

I'm sure some will watch The Walking Dead, as well.

I'm not sure if I will or will not participate this year. I have been involved in every single horror challenge since its inception in 2005 but the last few years I haven't watched much, so I'm not sure I will be participating this year or not.

Don't worry the Holiday Challenge will still happen this year like every year!

I'm still considering doing an all Halloween Horror Challenge. Between the scores of films and the hundreds of TV episodes set on Halloween I could fill a couple Octobers.

But then, I just reorganized my collection, unboxing dozens of unopened horror sets and perhaps 100 unopened horror BDs; so I doubt I'll be able to be so focused.

Aw, come on TM, you can't break that streak! At least watch a single episode or film to keep it going. There are scores of holiday horror films too.

Freddy's Nightmare can be found on Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/user/johndoe5green/videos

Looks like he has a lot, if not all the episodes recently uploaded. My other youtube guy seems to have lost all of his episodes.

I've been DL'ing movies off YouTube because you never know if they'll still be there in October.

Torrents are your friend! I've got close to a hundred 720p and 1080i HDTV horror titles, several of which have never even been released on DVD.

Not quite to that extreme but I have been going through my past OHMCs and making a master list so that I don't repeat any viewings.

Anyone else load up on the BL 4/$10 sale? (For this and the B movie challenge)

Also imageshack is making too many changes to what was a perfect host, anyone have any better alternatives?

Last year, I watched the first season of Ugly Americans on Netflix which I really enjoyed. It provided a nice comedic break from the movies.

+1, I'm happy to pay for anything with a reasonable release but I've got files for Fright Night Part II 720p, Eyes of Laura Mars, Lizard in Woman's Skin (OOP), Rawhead Rex, Porno Holocaust, etc... Can you recommend any otherwise inaccessible torrent gems?

Can't wait to see what it is, thanks again for donating. Celluloid Terror has been on a roll reviewing high quality stuff... I've got Whisperer in the Dark in my pile for October so was glad to read it's a worthy follow-up to Call of Cthulhu.

I'm not building a database, but have got my stuff amassed and am sorting by theme night. I've already got a few subset suggestions based off that.

Alien Raiders is a great movie, much better than the unassuming packaging leads one to believe. Speaking of extraterresterial horror, that one is top notch; well worth $2.50

I encourage you to stream a few horror films and share your thoughts; I recall you being a more vocal participant before.

The prizes aren't going to blow anyone away, I'm fairly tight on funds most of the time. But, they are fun/cool releases that I'm happy to donate and I'm sure will make someone happy to get them.

Thanks for the kind words on CT as always! You're in for a treat with Whisperer. I'm sort of upset at myself for not waiting to watch it in October but I reallllly wanted to watch it and write about it. The supplements are fun too (4 easter eggs included).

Edit to add- I totally agree with your thoughts on Alien Raiders. If anyone can find it at Big Lots for $3 it is well worth the investment. The crappy generic name and packaging don't do it justice at all.

Cool! I picked that one up a few months back and was going to use it for the Sci-Fi Challenge but overloaded on new titles, saw it was also horror so held it back for October.

I might watch some American Gothic as I own the series, well most of it. One disc was accidentally left out one day and the spray from those timed sprayed air fresheners worked it's way onto one side of one of the discs, making it unwatchable.

I'm only planning to watch approx 20-30 movies, which is a stretch for me. Suppose others might have the "do it all the way or don't do it at all" mentality, but I think it's more of a fun, personal thing to watch more horror than I normally would, converse with others, etc.

I've gone all out in the past and it really just sucked the life out of me. I "won" the challenge twice so I've got nothing to prove anymore. I will probably aim for 100 to maintain the challenging aspect of it, but can't see myself going for much more than that.

While I'll be participating, I don't know how many I will watch. While I'll be happy if I make 100, if I don't I won't worry about it.

One thing I noticed on the imdb links for the actors/actresses, it's including films even if they only thing they did was film editing. Lina Romay is coming up a lot like that. Just something to look out for if you working on the checklist.

Forget paying $40 for the out of print Code Red release of Night of the Demon, Image's "Horror Movie Extravaganza" includes an albeit VHS grade version + others for $7.18 on Deep Discount.

Even watching around 100 movies in the month I noticed that my mid-month review scores were lower than the beginning because it would become more of a chore to cram movies in. This year I'm trying to pace things better and come up with a way of preventing "horror fatigue."
