UDC,

If you're talking about the original, it was in last year's subset. I remember it well, as I didn't exactly cotton to it. The remake should be fair game for the subset, however.

Somebody else mentioned Halloween several posts back. That's been in a recent subset as well. I'd be all over Idle Hands for the Halloween film, or, as someone has already suggested, Lady in White.

My wife and kids brought back some horror movies for me from Japan.

1408 is something I haven't seen before, format wise. It's a blu-ray and dvd combo on a single disc.

Forget the It's Alive suggestion, I overlooked the previous inclusion of the original and I don't have enough confidence in the remake. Thanks, rbrown, for pointing this out. Still Grapes of Death or Children of the Corn...

We're watching It's Alive in my Horror class next month - for once school will actually help with the challenge.

Just saw the list thread for the first time and that was my immediate reaction - "Oh man, I'm a second pager!"

I'd put my money on the 25 image limit.

And why does that still exist now that we have unlimited post length? Ugh.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 7th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Oh yeah, someone asked earlier whether or not there were any restrictions regarding watching the same film twice. The answer is no.

This ridiculous rule was removed last year:

Spoiler:
DON'T VIEW THE SAME FILM MORE THAN ONCE! Remakes are the exception to the rule. In other words, don't watch the theatrical version of "The Exorcist" after already having viewed "The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen" and vice versa. The same holds true for all versions: director's cuts, unrated editions, colorized versions, fan edits, extended editions, "the version you supposedly couldn't see in a theater", etc. This is simply to encourage diversity and isn't set in stone.

I like it so much, I'm thinking about stealing it. I made this one with title cards, and I really like the way it turned out.

Sweet.

BTW, to anyone wanting to get rid of all the crap on the bottom remove everything after "< /embed>" except "< /a >< /div >< /div >".

Spoiler:

I remember that trick from a few years back when using Myspace.

I'm glad you guys liked it--as you can tell, I've been ready to get started on this challenge for a while now! I love Dimension X's take; title cards really give the shivery effect of watching great old horror flicks in a grindhouse.

Thanks. I'd already experimented with it in my list post and got rid of the stuff at the bottom, but I think you went further than I did. I'll use yours.

Thanks, and thanks for pointing me to that site. The title cards were all saved from the old "Guess the Movie by the Screenshot" game (mostly movies I posted).

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 7th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Can anyone recommend some good horror dvd commentaries to listen to? Might try a few of them this year.

All the Evil Dead movies with Campbell and Raimi are givens, any other good ones? I generally prefer a blend of humor/making-of-tales rather than pure behind the scenes audio commentaries. Thanks!

I'd recommend any of these that are mentioned:

My all-time favorite commentary is the one from the Anchor Bay edition of Alice, Sweet Alice. I listen to that one regularly.

The commentary for The Prowler, with director Joseph Zito and Savini, is an enjoyable one - they discuss the FX and the shooting, and Zito repeatedly mocks Savini for his inability to follow the plot. Galaxy of Terror has an absolutely hilarious track, with lots of joking around from the cast and crew. Also, make sure to check out the two online commentaries for Fright Night.

The Nightmare on Elm Street ones were good. I just wish there was one for the second film but there's only commentaries for the first and last film.

Jack-O was supposed to have a good fight with one of them storming out, only to later return.

CHUD is supposed to have a good one.

First time I made the first page.

Trevor(pretty sure it was him) is the one to lookout for. He managed to beat me when I posted the list thread for one of my challenges. In the time it took to post the thread and scroll down to the quick reply, I was already beaten.
