I never realized the series was continued overseas. Can't see why they didn't keep dubbing and strip syndicating the franchise.

Re: Transformers Headmasters
This sounds the same as the Takara Collection 1 that I bought at Amazon.co.uk (region-free) several years ago. I wonder if they've updated/added anything.

I can't wait for these. I bought a copy of the first 3 episodes on VHS at San Diego years ago but have always wanted to see all of them and prices have always been too high.
Now if they can include as an extra that one episode that was included on the TF Animated movie but with the actual dialogue and subtitles on it that bridged the gap between the TV series and movie I'd be extra happy!

Blitz-Wing reviews Headmasters here:
After 24yrs, the US will get to see Generation 1 as it lived on in Japan. Shout Factory is set to release the first of three Japanese Collection DVD sets. The first to be released in the Headmasters saga. The 4-DVD subtitled set shows us what happened after the "Return of Optimus Prime" and gives us a different continuity than that "The Rebirth" showed. For the full review, take the jump here.

Re: Transformers Headmasters
There's a Transformers The Japanese Collection Complete Series, which contains (almost) all of the Japanese episodes created:
http://www.seibertron.com/transforme...-series/21373/

It was scheduled to come out tomorrow, exclusively on Shout's website. However, it looks like production's been delayed 8-10 weeks, and the listing was pulled from their website.
Anyway, based on past behaviors (Joe and TF complete sets), I would predict that this set will eventually become available at all retailers in a year or so, discounted more than buying it through Shout now.

FYI, the Japanese Collection Complete Series up above ^^^ just shipped a couple weeks ago from Shout.
The disc producer actually said that there are no current plans for this set to go to retail, since it's a niche product (13 japanese-language discs), so for now it's exclusive to Shout's store.

My own personal guess is that the complete collection will show up at retail eventually too.

Shout! confirmed on one of their Facebook posts/pictures that they will indeed release the other volumes as individual releases for those that had gotten Headmasters and wanted the others without getting the Complete Series box set.
