One of my favorite things online is this "I won't believe it until I see/hear/smell it" nonsense.
Lets be realistic here. How many media releases are announced and never materialize? Not many, especially compared to all the ones that are released as planned.
I'm gonna go on the record and say I'm gonna believe this long before I see it.

Maybe I'm a gullible sheep but I doubt Conan and a website that refuses to participate in April Fools Day jokes are conspiring to troll the few internet nerds who are actually aware of the fact that this show hasn't already been on DVD for 15 years.

Oh no: DC Comics is in on the conspiracy:

I clicked the link but I didn't believe it until I printed it out and held it in my hands. Now I need a new ink cartridge.

You don't think DC Comics posting it as news lends credibility to the news and/or confirms it?
Christ.
It's not like a fairy just pops out and waves a wand and a release date and press release pop out fully-formed. There's a lot of work that goes into any project before that point and thanks to the innernets we are lucky to know this is coming before some PR guy releases a press release or some home video exec decides on a release date.

Given the size and cost this will likely be a late Q3/early Q4 release. I'm thinking August/September.
But if there is going to be a huge sticker shock with it, the may push it into Oct/November. People would be more likely to bitch but still pick it up closer to the holidays. Put it out too early in the year, and people will find it easier to wait for the inevitable cheaper single season sets.
I almost bit on the $200+ China Beach set last year- instead I waited and picked up S1 and have S2 on order and both of those, half the shows seasons, came to under $30.

I just hope we get unedited episodes with no missing elements.
After such a long wait, I hope this set is done right.

I can't believe (well actually I can) the quick dismissing of the announcement as not real.
I first saw this on my FB feed from Warner itself just after work yesterday, followed by news of the tweet, and from DC comics and TVShowsonDVD. This is real.

I'm in the same boat with you though, because I saw this from Warner themselves before all the other news. But again, that's only word from the studio themselves. What is it the internet kids say these days, "smh?" That sounds right, yeah ... "smh."

I won't even believe it then. Even after I've purchased it, received it and watched it I'll constantly be doubting my memory of all those things. I will only believe in this release at the exact moment that I'm looking at it. And even then I won't know if I'm hallucinating.

I figured this release was becoming more likely, as Warners have been doing a lot of merchandising with "Batman 66" for a while. But this is still a great surprise!

I wonder what sort of extras we'll get. Probably some sort of tributes to the actors and actresses from the show that have died. At least, I hope we get something like that.

Speculation only, but APRIL-MAY will be the near-exact 75th anniversary of Detective Comics #27. Fall-for-Christmas may make commercial sense, and the whole year is Batman's, but April and May would be very resonant.

That said, DC Comics does have their hardcover Batman '66 Vol. 1 collection coming out in early April so that could be a tie-in.

So is this the final "holy grail" for DVD releases? Song of the South doesn't count because it will NEVER be released.

Who owns Green Hornet's home video rights(or something)?

I'm betting a holiday release for this. Something this big it just makes sense for it to get a quarter four release.
