Re: Best Find

picked up a copy of Pumping Iron II for 1.00 at a pawn shop and threw it in a box for several months. Decided to see what is was worth and lo and behold I sold it for $125. ($1.00 is a sweet spot for me for used DVDs and sometimes I buy almost everything I see.)

Tons of stuff from Big Lots, but most notably the HB sets for 3.00. Never in my lifetime did I think I'd get the full set of the Flintstones for under 20 bucks.

O.C. complete series brand new for 18.xx on eBay. Did have a crack on the back of the case, but was not near as bad as I thought when I bid on it.

I'm sure there are more. I buy so much ... I think I spend more time buying than watching.

Re: Best Find

I suppose my best find was the $3 clearance rack at Half Price Books where I found Panther on DVD.

Re: Best Find

Purchased the very last copy Amazon had of Les Vampyres for $15.99 before it went out of print. The lowest "new" price via 3rd party seller is $145 now. Also was lucky to catch that Lighting Deal of Ford at Fox a few years back for $130. Love that set!

Re: Best Find

My best find was a copy of the 2006 drama about a Vietnamese family after the fall of Saigon, "Journey From the Fall" ("Vuot Song" - Vietnamese with English subtitles). This hard-to-find 2-disc dvd set usually sells for between $50 and $100+, but I found mine for $3

Re: Best Find

I've had alot of good finds like finding Rawhead Rex for 5 dollars at a used cd shop. My best overall would be when I found Fright Night 2, Watchers 1 & 2 double feature, Watchers 3(was oop at this time) and about 10 other horror titles I needed for 2.50 a piece at a pawn shop in one day.

Picked up a sealed copy of Mr. Bean: The Whole Bean with Rowan Atkinson, apparently out-of-print for a while, at a collectibles records store on St. Marks Place in NYC for $5.00!!!!!!

Re: Best Find

The OOP Fox edition of Totoro on DVD for $5. Then turned down another one a couple months later for $15. Dumb.

Also two OOP dvds of The Dog Who Stopped the war for $5 and $7 respectively.
