New limited edition Fox Classics on new Label

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...,3289441.story
From LA Times:
A new DVD specialty label, Twilight Time, featuring limited editions of vintage 20th Century Fox films, was launched Tuesday. The first film under the Twilight Time banner is John Huston's rarely seen 1970 spy thriller, "The Kremlin Letter," which will be available Jan. 25. A new title will be offered on the last Tuesday of each month thereafter...from screenarchives.com

Evidently it will be a limited program that is Not made on demand with extras and booklet, but only 3,000 copies will be published.

After "Kremlin Letter," the label will release Richard Fleischer's 1955 melodramatic thriller "Violent Saturday"; the 1964 aviation thriller "Fate Is the Hunter," with Glenn Ford; the 1957 musical "April Love," with Pat Boone and Shirley Jones, and the 1954 epic "The Egyptian," starring Jean Simmons and Victor Mature.

Another forum says 20 Fox titles have been licensed thus far for the program,

Re: New limited edition Fox Classics on new Label

I'll be down for this. The company press release has a bit more detail, but basically it's a bunch of special editions aimed at the classic audience. It looks like one of the features they'll be concentrating on is isolated music tracks as this company has been making a living releasing deep catalog soundtracks for the past 30 years or so. The fact that they're doling them out once a month makes it pretty easy to keep up with. Basically, it sounds like the anti-MOD program.

Well, quoting from the article that was linked in the very first post:

Priced at $19.99, Twilight Time titles will be available only at http://www.screenarchives.com.
It would seem logical to assume shipping charges as well.

I'd buy these a lot faster than Warner's legalized bootlegs.

...and they are not good:

USA: $4.35 for the first disc and .95 for each additional disc. Don't forget to add .95 for each disc in multiple CD sets. All orders will be shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) unless you request United Parcel Service
(UPS) shipping. For domestic UPS, add an additional $5.00 to the postage rate total. Alaska and Hawaii are excluded from UPS shipping.

I agree. Who cares if you can't get a copy of something due to the small production run if it's not blue on the data side of the disc?

Well, if these sort of titles have been selling less than 3000 copies anyways, they shouldn't be too hard to get.

Depending on the title, these collector's market soundtracks that Silver Screen deals in last two to three years before selling out. These will probably go a little faster. I've seen some of the cds go as high as $200 once they sell out.

Re: New limited edition Fox Classics on new Label

I've been buying CDs from SAE for years. Adding a monthly DVD to mix just might make me clear out my wish list even faster.

Their website - a bit difficult to find through Google - is:
http://www.screenarchives.com/

At this time there is merely a little announcement at the very top of their homepage (News) which says: December 14 - Coming Soon! New Twilight Time label DVD's announcement! Read HERE!.

When I Googled twilight time dvd I noticed that there are also threads on other forums about this - namely home theater forum (3 pages) and criterion forum (1 page).
