Re: DVDProfiler 3.7 is released

I just downloaded it a short time ago. No time to check it out now, but of the current new features I think I'm most excited about the ability to set up custom categories.

Wish they would give a better time frame on the iPhone/iPad version. They've been promising that for a looooong time.

(This version does seem to load a lot faster)

I think you're going to be seeing this in a matter of weeks. The whole point of the 3.7 release was to clean up compatibility issues between it and the iPhone app being developed.

It's been submitted so everyone's just waiting for Apple to approve it.

Apparently they still need to get the release notes together for 3.7 because all I see are release notes for 3.6.0 and 3.6.1.

Just installed 3.7, looks the same (which is nice), can't wait to see what they've improved on. -kd5-

WTH... you're right. I clicked on the release notes for 3.7 but, apparently, it goes to the previous release. Sorry.

If anyone can find the correct link, please post it.

I don't think there is a correct link yet, the link to 3.7's official Release Notes at the Invelos site goes to the same page...

Re: DVDProfiler 3.7 is released

I don't think there are release notes yet. This version came about because he discovered that version 3.6.1 wasn't able to properly sync with the new iPhone app. So 3.7 mainly corrects that issue and he knocked out as many bugs as he could.

However, this release doesn't really have any new features that I can recall. Just bug fixes.

The new iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad app was submitted on Monday. So hopefully it will be available next week some time.

Anyone interested in the new iPhone app can see a few screenshots here.

Exactly what I was thinking. It would be a handy tool but I could pick up two movies for the same price.... maybe durring a slow week I'll eventually get it.

Re: DVDProfiler 3.7 is released

It would be nice if they had a "stripped-down" version. There's a lot of functionality in the app that I would probably not need.

Real good news on the iPhone app. Been waiting for that for ages. Price seems a bit steep.

price is steep but it looks like this will be a great app. and I'm all for rewarding good products with my money, so this is an easy decision for me.

Re: DVDProfiler 3.7 is released

I have a problem. I'm using the free account, so I asked this on their "new members" sub-forum, but I suspect you guys are much likelier to be of help to me. Since upgrading to 3.7, when I sort by media (descending, so my Blus appear head of DVDs), titles either added or marked as watched appear grouped after the older titles. For instance, a microcosm might look like this:

American Psycho
Eyes Wide Shut
Batman: Under the Red Hood

Batman: Under the Red Hood should appear between American Psycho and Eyes Wide Shut, but instead it comes after the older titles.

This is a known bug in 3.7 and has been reported several times... my guess is that it will be fixed within the next few weeks... looks like iOS 1.0.1 is going to be the next release from invelos which will correct bugs that people found right away after the app launched. since there was no public beta testing it is expected that there will be some kinks, but i think a quick update with bug fixes will be next, then a small bug fix for windows 3.7 and then we will start to get new features.

Re: DVDProfiler 3.7 is released

I happily paid the $9 last night for the app. I understand that may seem like a lot for an iPhone / Touch / iPad app, but I'll use it very, very frequently. So I don't consider that too steep a price. Your needs will vary.

I'd say there's some bugs that really need sorted out, but for the most part, it's works great. Well worth my money.

Now if I see something I want while out, I can scan the barcode and add it to my wish list. I can also put the app on my wife's phone and then she'll have complete access to my wishlist in her pocket at all times. Worth the $9 right there since I've been told many, many, many times "I was going to get your title, but didn't know if you had it or not already.

I can also marked things watched as I watch them. No more forgetting to go log onto the computer late at night when I've finished a movie. So that data will be far more accurate.

I can also hand my phone over to any guests and let them browse the collection to find a movie they want to watch.

And the list goes on and on. So yes, it was well worth the $9 I paid. But your mileage may of course vary.

What's going on with DVDAf? They were supposed to be having a massive upgrade a while ago.

Re: DVDProfiler 3.7 is released

I have a probably dumb question. With the new version I set up the collection categories so I have 'All' 'Owned' 'Ordered' 'Wish list' and now 'Blu-ray' and 'HD-DVD' The Blu and HD-DVD that either have dvd discs in them (Inception) or are a combo (The Lake House) are only showing up in the 'All' and not the blu and hd. What do I have to do to their profiles to have them show up? Thanks in advance!
