Re: 2010 TV on DVD Challenge Discussion Thread
I'll be thrilled when it arrives no matter the time frame for delivery! It's MinLShaw who's putting the pressure on you mentioning an overnight to Canada...

Your efforts, as well as the superb prizes, are greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

Re: 2010 TV on DVD Challenge Discussion Thread
I really enjoyed this challenge and hope to do it again next year. I did manage my goal of watching Lost from beginning to end and had plans to watch some other things. Instead I ended up watching a lot of the extras from all six seasons and didn't really get around to many other shows. I really loved the show aside from a few nitpicks and am so glad that I had avoided any spoilers. I think it really lends itself to being watched in marathon sessions; I can see how some people might have lost enthusiasm when having to wait for the next episode to air.
Thanks for hosting this challenge, MinLShaw!

Haven't posted much in the discussion thread, but did enjoy focusing on TV on DVD for January. Spent most of the month with highly-regarded comedies which makes it easy to zip through several episodes at a time.
Went to finalize my list a moment ago and did a double take when I didn't see the list thread anywhere. Apparently when a thread is unstickied, it's sorted by the "last post" created, so the thread sunk immediately to page 3.

I enjoyed the challenge and look forward to seeing it again next year. Hopefully next year life won't get in the way and I can make a better showing than I did this year.

So, um, I still haven't heard back from pagefrance regarding the prize. I've sent a PM and posted in this thread. If I don't receive a reply by the end of Friday (4 February), I'll randomly select another winner. I hate to do that, but we really need to wrap this up.

Re: 2010 TV on DVD Challenge Discussion Thread
I received my prize today and I wanted to thank GoldenWheels and Hamilton Books for the great prizes.
Also, thanks to MinLShaw for hosting the challenge. I had a blast and as usual, I didn't watch as much as I had hoped, but I did hit my goals and knocked a few titles off the unwatched pile.
Looking forward to next year.

It's free, so who's complaining!?!? (read that last with a Jewish mother inflection)

Re: 2010 TV on DVD Challenge Discussion Thread
FWIW I do not tire of TV! I was one of those kids who had the TV schedule memorized whether I could watch a show or not. I lamented the simple fact that I could not watch all the new shows every fall (pre-VCR days). I like it so much that I worked in TV for over 20 years. I'd spend the day directing commercials and newscasts then go home and watch TV until bedtime. While I'm no longer in broadcasting I still love to watch TV. I also love the independence of program selection DVD affords. Because of that, this challenge almost felt like cheating simply because I just followed my normal routine.

I'm torn as whether to watch the copy of "Becket" I taped this morning for the Academy Award challenge or to dive into this set! Hmmm if I watch "Becket" I could look through the catalogs during the slow parts...
Again, THANK YOU!
