You can cut and paste all of your days into that first post; and use that same edit button to delete all of your posts here except for that first one.
Also, we have a discussion thread for all things related to the Challenge here.
We've tried to contact you a couple different ways with no success, thought maybe you'd see this post.

Continued from Part 1 & Part 2
October 16th
47.)
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes (1978) (VHS)
My Thoughts: I have always liked this movie since I first saw it as a kid. I even have my Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes Gameboy game still. The movie is a bit dated, comedy wise, but it still plays, at least for me. Also I didn't watch this movie with my wife but she happened to catch a scene or two and this is her reaction: "Tomato attacking the people?". "What the shit?"
(4 out of 5)
48.)
I Am Legend (RiffTrax) (2007) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Wasn't really sold on the idea for these tracks on new movies but I have got to say it was great. I think I laughed more at this track than any MST3K track i have ever heard.
(4 out of 5)
49.)
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) (VHS)
My Thoughts: This is a good movie but I didn't like their zombie mythos. It was a nice change of pace though.
(3.5 out of 5)
50.)
Voice (2005) (DVD)**
My Thoughts: Aside from the completely non-representational cover this is a serviceable K-Horror ghost story. It is geared more toward women and gets a bit soap opera-esk frequently.
(3.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "It's good, it's a little confusing because they didn't find the truth". "Very difficult and interesting".
(4.5 out of 5)
October 17th
51.)
Zombie Roadkill (Episodes 1-6) (2010) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Yeah there is some bad acting but this was still an awesomely stupid-funny series. Man I wish this was feature length.
(4.5 out of 5)
52.)
Basket Case 2 (2005) (DVD)*
My Thoughts: I didn't like this one as well as BC1, it feels somewhat stupid but the story and especially Dwaine does grow on you with repeated viewing.
(3 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "What the fuck?". "Ending was suck, if ending didn't go that way I like it". "I was thinking they have enough money to people watch that?" (She was wondering if the movie made any money)
(3 out of 5)
53.)
Devil Bat (1940) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: Bela Lugosi makes an aftershave that causes the bats he mad giant by electrocuting them to attack the wearer. Ridiculous but much better than Ape Man. Wouldn't mind hearing a RiffTrax on this one.
(2.5 out of 5)
October 18th
54.)
Le Manoir du Diable (1896) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Albeit a few years before The Haunted Curiosity Shop but not nearly as fun. Too much reliance on just the jump cut appearance and it was a lot less interesting and repetitive in this manner.
(1.5 out of 5)
55.)
Mama (2009) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Very creepy short, I wasn't a fan of the ending but am defiantly intrigued by the conversion to feature length.
(3.5 out of 5)
56.)
Larger Than Life (1997) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: The short that inspired Eight Legged Freaks is included on the DVD and while not as polished as the feature length version it does have a more menacing spider.
(4 out of 5)
57.)
The Evil Dead (1981) (DVD)
My Thoughts: I usually skip this one in favor of watching just 2 & 3. I guess I had forgotten what an effective horror movie this was. No comedy in this one, just scares all the way.
(4 out of 5)
58.)
Daffy Duck's Quackbusters (1988) (Via The Net)
My Thoughts: The segment with Porky and Sylvester has always been one of my favorite Looney Tunes sketches. The rest are good but not fantastic.
(3.5 out of 5)
59.)
Terror by Night (1946) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: I have seen 4 or 5 actors portray the character of Sherlock Holmes and this one was my least favorite. He wasn't aweful he just didn't imbue the character as well as other have.
(2.5 out of 5)
60.)
Tourist Trap (1979) (DVD)
My Thoughts: Well, I liked this one better than I did the first time I saw it. It has a great location and cast but the telekinesis aspect just didn't do it for me. It would have been much scarier and more suspenseful without it.
(3.5 out of 5)
61.)
Elvira's Movie Macabre: Count Dracula's Great Love (1972) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Aside from the liberal amount of boobage this movie sucks. I do wish Elvira would pop in a bit more than right after a commercial.
(2 out of 5)
October 19th
62.)
The Ghosts of Hanley House (1968) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: Your standard 'lets stay overnight in the hanuted house' plot. This one, however, comes of bland, boring and not in anyway creepy or scary.
(1.5 out of 5)
October 20th
62.)
Undead Or Alive (2007) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: Not quite as bad as I would have thought but it is by no means a great movie. It does have Chris Kattan playing dumb which I am partial to.
(3 out of 5)
63.)
Bloody Pit Of Horror (1965) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: I have got to say, I found this one pretty entertaining. The interplay of the dubbed dialog, music, and cheesy cheesy plot really worked for me. But I can't help but feel like it was missing a few things (such as fun bags).
(4 out of 5)
64.)
Return Of The Living Dead 3 (Audio Commentary) (1993) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: This $5 4 pack was a no-brainer purchase. Unfortunately they only included the R-Rated Version of ROTLD3, so I still can't get rid of my VHS tape. This is actually something they get angry about during the commentary. I did the cast one like I usually do but it was a bit bland and monotone this time around but is still a decent track on a movie I love (even if it is the wrong version).
(4 out of 5)
65.)
Watchers (1988) (DVD)*
My Thoughts: This movie has the 80's trifecta going on: Michael Ironside, Corey Haim & a cheesy monster. And really, who wouldn't want a scrabble playing dog. The downside is since it is based on a novel it does have that truncated plot feel from time to time.
(4 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Good, want to get a doggie like him". "Gorilla scared". "I like this movie but I realize old movie all similar starter like Piranha...".
(5 out of 5)
October 21th
66.)
The Screaming Skull (1958) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: Decent, had a kind of Poe type feel. A bit predictable but fun.
(3.5 out of 5)

Re: The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31) ***The List Thread
Continued from: Part 1
October 10th
25. ☼ The Plague of the Zombies (1966)
(Theme Night)
Another really good voodoo zombie flick. Fun zombie story with the trademark Hammer style. Digging the voodoo priest's wardrobe, the mask and his ring. I also particularly liked the change of setting from the usual locations of voodoo films, this being set in a small English village.
26. ☼ The Gates of Hell (1980)
(31 Film Subset) (Theme Night)
This movie doesn't have hordes of zombies and the story is hard to follow but I can completely forgive all of that when looking at the lovely gore exhibited in this movie, particularly the scene with the two young lovers in the truck. The girl whose eyes start to bleed then spews all of her organs out of her body was amazingly gross, and I wondered how the director was going to top that, and he doesn't but that's okay because that scene completely won me over. I admire all the bleeding eyes in this movie which is a favorite image of mine. Going to buy the blu-ray so thanks llandros for choosing it for the subset.
27. ☼ Survival of the Dead (2009)
(Theme Night)
My least favorite of Romero's zombie films and I've liked them all up until this point. I like the issue being covered here, the feud between those who want to keep the zombies alive and those who don't. It reminds me of the Hershel story-line from The Walking Dead comics. Unfortunately the movie doesn't have the looming danger and suspense the other films had, and the CGI gore is such a step back from what was accomplished in Day of the Dead.
October 11th
28. ☼ The Blob (1988)
(31 Film Subset)
Looses a bit of steam towards the end but it has that fun 80’s quality. The blob monster was done rather well and the drain death scene is the definite highlight of the movie for me.
29. The Burning (1981)
(Theme Night)
I love The Burning, one of my favorite slashers. Not as scary as Friday the 13th but the characters were fleshed out better and more likeable. Got to love the raft scene, Savini is tops.
30. ☼ April Fool’s Day (1986)
(Theme Night)
The day this movie takes place on lends its self rather well to the horror genre. There are a lot of machinations going on in the story. I can say this movie frustrated me but that’s what it sets out to do.
October 12th
31. ☼ The Cottage (2008)
(Theme Night)
I wasn’t expecting much from this one, mainly checked it out because of Andy Serkis, but I turned out pleasantly surprised. It has a nice blend of comedy, starting out as a crime story than transitions to horror. Reminiscent of Texas Chainsaw, I got a lot of nice laughs and scares from it and it has some nice gore scenes, an entertaining flick.
32. ☼ The Black Cat (1941)
Too bad Lugosi and Rathbone had such small parts. I enjoyed this film though, kind of overdoes it with the bumbling comedy, but the atmosphere is nice.
October 13th
33. Frankenstein (1994)
(Theme Night)
This movie starts to fall apart at the end but until the whole “Bride” part I thought it was a pretty loyal adaptation of the novel with only minor discrepancies. The problem is Branagh follows the novel very close and you expect it to stay close all the way through but at the end he deviates, which is disappointing because none of the old movies get this close and I was expecting it to follow through until the end. The story has a lot of emotion and I love the 18th century setting and visuals of the movie. I liked De Niro as the monster. Frankenstein’s action at the end with Elizabeth just don’t jive with his mindset in the book. Despite its flaws I like to revisit this movie because I love horror movies set in centuries past.
34. Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
(31 Film Subset)
I like the first 2 Hellraisers so much because they are the stuff of twisted nightmares. There is an unsettling aura about these films, disturbing imagery and I love the portrayal of hell in these films. Scary to think about ending up stuck in that box. This film has all the right qualities of a true horror film.
October 14th
35. The Omen (1976)
(Theme Night)
The perfect evil child film with the talents of Gregory Peck. It’s a great film and it makes me feel unsettled watching it. It’s more subtle horror but does exhibit some memorable death scenes.
October 15th
36. ☼ Night of the Comet (1984)
(Theme Night)
Fun campy horror comedy rife with the 80‘s feeling from soundtrack to styles. Wish the “zombies” were used more but enjoyed the 80’s vibe.
37. ☼ The Monster (1903) (Wildcard #2)
October 16th
38. ☼ Brainscan (1994)
90’s grunge influenced horror. Fun although campy flick, liked seeing Frank Langella. Not a fan of the ending.
39. ☼ Ju-on (2000)
(Theme Night)
Creepiest thing about this movie was the guttural sound coming from the girl up in the rafters. That segment made the film.
October 17th
40. ☼ My Bloody Valentine (1981)
(31 Film Subset) (Theme Night)
Slow in the beginning but really picks up when the young people go into the mine. The mining outfit is a great look for the killer. Didn’t see the ending coming. All around good slasher.
41. Opera (1987)
(Theme Night)
I love Argento, I love Opera. There’s a higher element of horror in this film because our leading lady is being terrorized and played with than being outright murdered. Pretty sadistic what the murderer does to her. Love the needles under the eyes trick and all the good deaths in this movie. Terrific directing, and images, one of my favorite horror films.
October 18th
42. ☼ The Reptile (1966)
I really like The Reptile. Typical great atmosphere from a Hammer picture with a good mystery. The reptile is shown only a few times so it really builds up the suspense to see it. Like how they changed up the creature from the typical vampire or zombie. The reptiles bite has a neat effect on its victims. Another great effort from Hammer.
43. Murder in the Rue Morgue (1932)
(Theme Night)
Features one of Lugosi’s more memorable characters and lovely sets and imagery. Erik the ape climbing the cottages is very reminiscent to King Kong so I was surprised to find it pre-dates Kong. As with most of the early Poe adaptations there is some lovely atmosphere. Always a joy watching Lugosi.
October 19th
44. Black Christmas (1974)
(Theme Night)
Fun with phone games. A slasher that doesn't have much gore but still stays effective with a interesting ending.
45. ☼ Tourist Trap (1979)
(31 Film Subset)
I liked this movie a ton. Very effective use of mannequins and the villain was an absolute creep and played wonderfully. Telekinesis, doll masks, lots of eerie things in this movie.
46. The Blob (1958)
Bit of a slow burner compared to the remake and the monster isn't as exciting but it has strength with Mcqueen and the nice 50's atmosphere.
October 20th
47. ☼ Candyman (1992)
I like the exploration of urban legends in this film, I used to have a fear of the Bloody Mary legend as a young child, brings me back to those days.
48. House of Frankenstein (1944)
(Theme Night)
One of my favorite things about this movie is seeing the monster try to save Karloff at the end of the film. It's a nice image considering Karloff's history with the character.
49. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
The first two Friday films rank up on my most scary list so unfortunately the sequels that follow feel a bit disappointing, not able to retain that same level of scares. The 4th is a step up from the 3rd however, and I like to revisit it for Corey Feldman and Crispin Glover.

25. ☼ The Plague of the Zombies (1966)

Looses a bit of steam towards the end but it has that fun 80’s quality. The blob monster was done rather well and the drain death scene is the definite highlight of the movie for me.
29. The Burning (1981)

I love The Burning, one of my favorite slashers. Not as scary as Friday the 13th but the characters were fleshed out better and more likeable. Got to love the raft scene, Savini is tops.
30. ☼ April Fool’s Day (1986)

The day this movie takes place on lends its self rather well to the horror genre. There are a lot of machinations going on in the story. I can say this movie frustrated me but that’s what it sets out to do.

Continued from Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3

67.)
Demons (1985) (VHS)
My Thoughts: Really enjoy this movie, it has a great location, set up, soundtrack, crazy effects and quite a few WTF moments just to keep you on your toes. It's almost like a demon version of a zombie outbreak side fro a few supernatural instances.
(4 out of 5)
68.)
Demons 2 (1986) (VHS)
My Thoughts: Not quite as good as the first one, kind of like if ROTLD2 and Poltergeist 3 had Demons' sequel baby. My favorite part was the ghoulie demon.
(3.5 out of 5)
69.)
Tulsa 2nd Annual SciFi Horror Weekend (2010) (In The Flesh) (Wild Card) *
My Thoughts: This convention was a bit smaller than I would have liked but I did get to meet several horror names and won a book and a poster. Also I gave Joe Bob Briggs a beer and Charles Band took my advice on where to get a good steak in town. Overal a fun, if a bit expensive, experience.
(4 out of 5)
70.)
Jason X (2001) (DVD)
My Thoughts: I was initially kind of 'meh' on this movie but every time I watch it I realize more and more that it is one of my favorite Fridays. The Sci-Fi setting is great, it doesn't feel cheap at all, the kills are good and I actually kinda like the plot (compared to some of the other entries in the series). I do wish the had continued along these lines instead of the reboot.
(4 out of 5)
71.)
Horror Of The Blood Monsters (1970) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: This is a really really cheap space vampire movie. And I would recommend it only to aficionados of really bad movies. Stock shots, color filters, wooden chairs in space ships, iguana fights, ect.
(1.5 out of 5)
72.)
Tales From The Crypt Season 2: Terror Television (1990) (DVD)**
My Thoughts: Morton Downey Jr. plays the swarmy TV personality roll he is so good at in this above average haunted house take.
(3.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "A little scary but a little fake". (<-In Japanese) "Thats good but too ordinary too fakie, the shouldn't have chainsaw that looks funny not scary".
(3 out of 5)
October 23th
73.)
Blood Suckers (1972) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: Kind of a weird hippy day vampire flick. I noticed that this whole movie was played fast which was strange. My feelings mostly on this were just kind of "meh". Peter Cushing was wasted.
(2 out of 5)
74.)
The Back Raven (1943) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: This whodunit works at a decent pace but kind of fizzles out at the end. The real question I have is why was it included in the AMC Monsterfest box set?
(3 out of 5)
75.)
Ice Cream Man (1995) (VHS)
My Thoughts: One of those weird horror movies for kids. It does have a few pretty awesome lines but is otherwise pretty hard to watch. And really they couldn't find a fat kid? Just had to use a skinny kid with a pillow under his shirt?
(2 out of 5)
76.)
Night Of The Living Dead (1990) (VHS)
My Thoughts: I didn't really like this one the first time around but this time I have to say it wasn't so bad. Didn't care for the opening and the direction they took Barbara's character but the middle and redneck ending were very effective.
(3.5 out of 5)
77.)
Zombi 3 (1988) (DVD)
My Thoughts: With a Lucio Fulci zombie flick you know your going to get some good gore, oddly dubbed actors and several 'what the fuck' moments. This film hits all those notes but is a little light on the gore and zombies go down way too easy. I did like the 'Three Dog' like radio announcer.
(2.5 out of 5)
October 24th
78.)
Evil Dead: The Musical (2004) (In The Flesh) (Wild Card)**
My Thoughts: I had a great time with this but it needs a bit more polish. There was a lot of painful exposition of the plot and the songs were only 50/50. But when I did like something I liked it a lot. The actors that played Ash, Linda and Jake were noticeable better than everyone else (perhaps due to their parts).
(3.5 out of 5)
(Note: My wife has, as of yet, seen none of the Evil Dead movies)
My Wife's Thoughts: "That Ash guy looks like your dad, when he was younger of course". "A little silly but I love it". "I wish it start at 10, 10 to 12". (Instead of midnight to 2am)
(5 out of 5)
79.)
Dracula Vs Frankenstein (1971) (VHS)
My Thoughts: I kind of like this one because it is so strange. Two horrible facsimiles of our billed characters pop in and out of this movie infrequently until the end. Then Dracula ends up dismembering Frankenstein but wait... it's sunrise already, fuck. Really weird, lots of hippies, Dracula has a laser ring and there is a retarded axe-killer with a puppy...
(3.5 out of 5)
80.)
Evil Dead II (1987) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: One of the best horror comedies of all time. It does lack a bit of set up when watching it sans part 1 and it is sad that the tree scene is so toned down but otherwise this is gold.
(4.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Not that good, too much fakie stuff". "Musical better, Ash cuter in musical this ash not kitton's type". Musical everything better".
(3 out of 5)
October 25th
81.)
The Human Monster (1939) (DVD / Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: This one is fairly interesting involving Bela Lugosi committing insurance fraud, taking advantage of the blind and killing people via drowning. My favorite part is the Chicago cop and his take on London. Unfortunately my DVD completely drops sound 15 minuted before the end of the movie! Luckily it's in the PD and was able to find it fairly easily, but still.
(3.5 out of 5)
82.)
Trilogy Of Terror (1975) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Story 1: meh. Story 2: predictable. Story 3: some of the best killer doll action I have ever seen. The actress that headlines all of these stores just isn't my cup of tea, unless she is screaming I am just not buying what she is doing (especially on the phone). Maybe one day I'll take all the good stories from these anthologies and make one awesome set. You should see this one if only for story 3.
(3.5 out of 5)
83.)
Rosemary's Baby (1968) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Generally one of the creepiest movies I have ever seen. I am never talking to my neighbors again.
(5 out of 5)
84.)
Zombi 4: After Death (1988) (DVD)
My Thoughts: Aside from a really catchy song this one is pretty disappointing. Perhaps in a fun group viewing I would appreciate the ridiculousness of this one a bit more but as it stands; the acting, the story and the zombies were lame. Zombies often just stop and stood there, sometimes are super human in strength, they talk and they use guns.
(1.5 out of 5)
October 26th
85.)
Wild Zero (2000) (DVD)
My Thoughts: Pretty awesome little Japanese flick. Think rock & roll UFO-zombie apocalypse/ladyboy love story. This is a lot of fun and is just the right balance of silly to not come off stupid. Also the DVD has a build in drinking game special feature!
(4.5 out of 5)
86.)
Psycho III (1986) (DVD)
My Thoughts: A competent slasher but not even in the ball park of I or II. Norman Bates is one of the most likable serial killers...
(3 out of 5)
87.)
Werewolf Vs The Vampire Woman (1971) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: Picturesk but otherwise a very yawn inducing flick.
(1.5 out of 5)
88.)
Deep Red (1975) (DVD)
My Thoughts: A Hichcockian level murder mystery thriller. It was blind buys like this in the early days of DVD that fueled my habit into overdrive. On a side note, I do appriciate having the complete version of the film here but the jumping back and forth between English and Italian is very jarring.
(4.5 out of 5)
89.)
Fright Night Part II (1988) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: I had fun with this one but the vampires were much less menacing this time around. And there were several recycled plot elements which is par for the course for sequels but felt tired here. Vampire bowling montage.
(3.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Better Than first one". "New girlfriend better but feel too long movie wise, they just expanded too much".
(3.5 out of 5)

My Thoughts: I had fun with this one but the vampires were much less menacing this time around. And there were several recycled plot elements which is par for the course for sequels but felt tired here. Vampire bowling montage.
(3.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Better Than first one". "New girlfriend better but feel too long movie wise, they just expanded too much".

Re: The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31) ***The List Thread
Continued from Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 & Part 4
October 27th
90.)
Hands Of A Strangler (1962) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: A pianist loses his hands, gets transplants and then goes insane and uses his new hands for murder. Overacting aside this was a decent flick, I have no interest to see it again but it did hold my attention and didn't bore me.
(3 out of 5)
91.)
2010 Spike Scream Awards (2010) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Should have been called the True Blood awards, guess I'll have to give that show another shot. Pretty average except for a few premiere trailers and a couple of awesome guests. But it was the change of pace I needed.
(3.5 out of 5)
92.)
Uncle Sam (1997) (VHS)
My Thoughts: Solider killed in Desert Storm comes back to life to dispatch the non-patriotic. Flag burners, draft dodgers, pot smokers, ect are all on Uncle Sam's list. I think this movie actually plays better now than when it came out! There was a huge missed opportunity to kill hippies here.
(4 out of 5)
October 28th
93.)
White Zombie (1932) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: I have always had a fascination with the real practice of zombies in Haiti. This is easily the best Lugosi movie I have seen but I have only seen the 4 in this pack.
(4 out of 5)
94.)
In Search Of... Voodoo (1977) (Via The Net) * (Wild Card)
My Thoughts: This, unfortunately, was a look at the more ritualistic tame side of voodoo. Only a few mentions of zombies but at least I liked the narrator
.
(3.5 out of 5)
95.)
Basket Case 3: The Progeny (1992) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: You have really got to be in the mood for this kind of trash or you will hate every moment of watching it. I showed the trilogy to a friend once and can now always get a cringe out of him by saying "Belial noooo". This one was better than the second one but is crazy over the top. Belial Mech.
(3.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Do they have until 4?" "Is that finish?" "I was more expecting the revenge type but it's not." "Better story compared to 2nd one, but I think Dwaine was most crazy one, not Belial".
(3.5 out of 5)
96.)
Burial Ground (1981) (DVD)
My Thoughts: One of those so bad it's good type of films. Great over the top gore, dialog done all cheesy like & one of the creepiest incestual zombie scenes you will ever see. A must watch for any fan of the genre, at least once. Also where Chad's previous avatar came from.
(3.5 out of 5)
97.)
Psycho IV: The Beggining (1990) (DVD)
My Thoughts: My least favorite of the bunch. They take likable Mr. Bates and make him too malevolent. Also you can really feel that hokey TV movieness. After watching Burial Ground this is way too much creepy mother son stuff for the night.
(2.5 out of 5)
October 29th
98.)
Return Of The Living Dead: Necropolis (2005) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: I wanted to like this but sub par acting, plot and effects made it really hard. Also they changed the ROTLD mythos and turned the zombies into your standard head-shot Romero kind which really undermines the effectiveness of the series. Also at the point of outbreak where the movie should start getting better it goes downhill even more.
(2 out of 5)
99.)
The Walking Dead S01E01 (2010) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: This is exactly what I was wanting out of this series. Large scale, Romero zombies, head shots & not jokey. I loved the 28 days later homage, hopefully they can do this every couple of episodes or for minor story arcs (such as 4 episodes in a mall). Lets hope it plays for a long time.
(5 out of 5)
100.)
Dawn Of The Dead (2004) (DVD)
My Thoughts: Coming off The Walking Dead I needed some more zombie awesomness. Why can't Romero's new stuff be as good as this? Aside from a few mythos things & some questionable music choices here and there this is one of my favorite zombie flicks.
(4.5 out of 5)
101.)
American Scary (2006) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: As a fan of mainly Joe Bob and Elvira there wasn't much for me here. The main focus of this documentary is local hosts and while this is somewhat interesting it is not 90 minutes interesting.
(2.5 out of 5)
102.)
Army Of Darkness (1992) (VHS) *
My Thoughts: Like many this was the first of the Evil Dead movies I saw as a child and it still mostly holds up. Unfortunately it has become a bit too mainstream which takes some of the appeal away for me... I chose the theatrical version to watch with the wife because it dovetailed better with the Musical than the director's cut.
(4 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "It's not that great, it's unrealistic". "Story wise it's not great". "They try to just make something happen but it's not related to anything previous story, a little strange". "I like the musical much much better". (Yes, I know she is insane but she is a fantastic cook).
(2.5 out of 5)
October 30th
103.)
It! (1966) (Via The Net) *
My Thoughts: Wow, this one was surprisingly good and it was about the Golem which I unbeknownst watched earlier in the challenge. Interesting throughout and Roddy McDowell was amazing, as always.
(4.5 out of 5)
104.)
Inferno (1980) (DVD)
My Thoughts: Inspired to watch this after one of Chads questions this is the first time I have viewed this in nearly a decade. Not quite as good as Suspira but interesting enough that I must now seek out the 3rd installment. Why did the hot dog guy do that?
(4 out of 5)
105.)
Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: I bought this because it reminded me of Roddy McDowell's character in Fright Night. Unfortunately it did not stack up. The humor didn't play, if it ever did, and just served to make it awkward and strange throughout. In fact I am tempted to recommend it just based on how weird it is. And really, a movie called Fearless Vampire Killers that doesn't include even one vamp slaying?
(2.5 out of 5)
106.)
Night Of The Demons (1988) (VHS)
My Thoughts: A preeminent 80's classic. Cheesetastic, Linnea Quigley, nakedness, great effects, characters you want to die, what more could you want out of an 80's horror movie.
(4.5 out of 5)
October 31st
107.)
Night Of The Demons 2 (1994) (VHS)
My Thoughts: Not quite as good as the first one but still plenty of fun. Also there is some interesting dynamics when the demons leave the house and watch out for some killer boobs.
(4 out of 5)
108.)
Night Of The Demons 3 (1997) (VHS)
My Thoughts: Well Angela, the gore and the nudity are back. But this entry seem much less imaginative also I didn't really like the teens this time around.
(3 out of 5)
109.)
X-Files Season 4: Home (1996) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: A bit aged at this point but still a solid episode. I remember when I saw it upon it's initial airing and being wowed that they got it on TV. While not quite tame by todays standards it doesn't carry the power that it used to.
(3.5 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Good but creepy, not ending story". "Beginning is good but couldn't find anything".
(2.5 out of 5)
110.)
Phantasm III: Lord Of The Dead (1994) (DVD) *
My Thoughts: They leave the move grounded take that part 2 took in favor of something more like the first one. Lots of astral projections, dream sequences & of course flying metallic balls. I like that they have the original mike back but otherwise this one seems a bit boring after the first 2.
(3 out of 5)
My Wife's Thoughts: "Better than 2 I guess". "It have more story".
(3.5 out of 5)
111.)
Suspiria (1977) (DVD)
My Thoughts: I love how every scene of this movie drips with color, it's like delicious 70's eye-candy. Otherwise it is a gripping interesting thriller that I can watch again and again. I actually did a report on this movie in high school for my foreign film class (at the time I graded it a 4/5 but looking at my criticisms now they just don't hold water).
(4.5 out of 5)
112.)
Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout (1990) (VHS)
My Thoughts: Premise of this one is basically lets watch Linnea Quigley gyrate and show clips from other films she has been in. And while that is good in theory they only cleared about 5 of her films to show clips from and must just allude to or show a still shot from others. And the "workout" sequences go on for way too long (but I guess in the late 80's porn wasn't quite as accessible).
(2.5 out of 5)

Re: The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31) ***The List Thread
Continued from: Part 1 & Part 2
October 21st
50. ☼ The Seventh Victim (1943)
(31 Film Subset)
Didn't move me like the other Lewton pictures I saw, story wasn't the strongest, but it is a nice film to look at with dark lighting, eerie dark hallways and subways, and the final scene was a good pay-off.
51. ☼ Black Sabbath (1963)
(Theme Night)
I have the Bava box set dvd and I'm kinda disappointed I didn't get to hear Karloff's performance, I'll have to track down the english version one day. This was a fairly good anthology film, "The Wurdalak" being the best of the three stories, though "The Drop of Water" was the creepiest due to the old lady's frozen expression.
52. Black Sunday (1960)
Fabulous dark atmosphere, with all the staples of a great gothic horror, and to top it off, Barbara Steele in her most memorable role.
October 22nd
53. ☼ Demons (1985)
(Theme Night) (31 Film Subset)
This movie was lots of fun. I liked the 80's influence and soundtrack and enjoyed the "stuck in a theater with demons" situation.
54. ☼ The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb (1964)
I like the entrepreneur plot and character Fred Clark plays, miss Cushing and Lee but it's still an enjoyable mummy flick.
55. ☼ Frankenweenie (1984) & Frankenstein (1910) (Wildcard #3)
October 23rd
56. Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)
(Theme Night)
Great sequel to both The Wolfman and Frankenstein, I particularly like Chaney Jr.'s performance and getting to see Lugosi as The Monster.
57. ☼ Night of the Lepus (1972)
Nice campy premise and the giant rabbit shots and close ups of their gnashing teeth were fun to look at but the film drags.
58. ☼ Hobgoblins (1988) (with MST3K commentary)
Absolutely ridiculous film but well worth the watch with the hilarious MST3K commentary. Falls into the so bad it's good category.
October 24th
59. ☼ Flowers in the Attic (1987)
(31 Film Subset)
Louise Fletcher did a fine job as the grandmother, entertaining mean relative story.
60. ☼ The Toolbox Murders (1978)
(Theme Night)
Much of this film's strength lies within the first half hour with the initial murders, those were great scenes, unfortunately the movie tones down after that and my enjoyment dropped a bit.
61. Frankenstein (1931) (with commentary)
October 25th
62. Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959)
(Theme Night)
Campy but a classic.
63. The Boogens (1981)
(Theme Night)
The Boogens wasn't half as cheesy as I thought it be, they hide the monster most of the movie so there is that eagerness there to see what it looks like.
64. Godzilla (1954)
(Theme Night) (31 film Subset)
Godzilla is a classic, well done monster, nice effects, wish we got to see him more.

Re: The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31) ***The List Thread
The combined 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" list.
I'm not a big fan of how the dates ended up spacing, but I built the list in Excel for sorting purposes, then converted to Word to paste into post. I am also sure that there are duplicate entries due to the various AKAs that exist. I have tried to eliminate as many as possible. About half the lists weren't DATED, so I took an educated guess on what someone may have watched. I have also corrected dates that I noticed were incorrect (or didn't match IMDB), but I am sure an audit will find more. I used IMDB for most dates and AKA resolutions, but had to resort to Google, Bing, Netflix, and Amazon for some of the obscure (usually foriegn TV) information.
TV episodes are dated by the start date of the SERIES rather than the SEASON as to de-conflict multiple series with the same title.
I am also going to post a chronological list as well. I have the original Excel 2007 version if anyone wants me to send them one. Just PM me.

Here's the chronological list. And no, we didn't hit every year, but this will be one heck of a cheat sheet for next year!
Seeing them in this order reminds me that I didn't mention that the "hosted" (MST3K/Elvira) versions are dated by the original movie's release and not by the airdate of the "host" episode.
