Let the Right One In: the subititles issue
Wanting to revisit the the much-acclaimed Let the Right One In before the Matt Reeves remake, I heard the controversy surrounding the issue with the subtitles. Did Magnolia ever put a properly-translated disc and is there a way to tell apart the two releases?

Yes they did.
The way to tell is on the back of the case it will list "English (Theatrical)" as one of the subtitle options.
If it says just "English, Spanish" for subtitles, it's the old disc.

Hit up Target for the corrected DVD, Best Buy for the corrected Blu-ray. You're sure to find them at many other locations, but they're the prevalent hot spots. Just look for "English (Theatrical)" in the subs.

i have to add, Magnet Releasing is the most unfriendly company I have ever dealt with, the way they handled this and their customers is unacceptable in a time when they should value every sale.

Which version is streamed/rented from Netflix?
Especially given that they're a niche company.
