Dollhouse Season 2 10/12/10

It looks like Dollhouse Season 2 finally has a release date of October 12, 2010.

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Dol...Season-2/14016

I watched all of Season 1, but got behind with Season 2 and never caught up. So, I'm looking forward to getting this and catching up, particularly since I hear Season 2 is even better.

Anybody else looking forward to this?

I'm a Whedon fan, but I never really checked this show out.

I got Season 1 for my girlfriend, and she enjoyed it, so I'll probably get her Season 2 as well.

I'll pick it up to compliment season 1.

The second season (a lot like the first season) started out slow in the first 3-4 episodes, but by episode 7 was some of the best television I have seen in a long time. This is the first TV that I have watched on a weekly basis, Live, in a long ass time.

I gave up on this at episode 6 of season one. I love me some Whedon though so I am going to go get season one right now and pre-order season two. Hopefully I like it much more now.

Cool beans. Glad to see this one is getting a Blu-ray release (I was concerned that it might not given that the show was cancelled). Personally, I thought the second season was a bit stronger than the first overall... it brings a reasonably satisfying close to the series, too.

Still ahve this sitting on the DVR, unwatched. Finally watched season 1 on disc, and I will watch season 2 before the end of the summer. I will most likely pick up the blue ray once it is cheap enough.

To my understanding, Fox was pushing for a more episodic show, resulting in the first 5-6 episodes having more of a "mission of the week" feel. Around that point, the show moved more towards what Whedon was pushing for (away from stand-alone episodes), and really started to pick up in quality, according to fans.

In fact, according to my girlfriend, the best way to watch it is to watch the unaired pilot ("Echo"), then skip the first 5 episodes of the show and start with "Man On The Street".

You can't skip any episodes. Because later on in Season Two...uhh...well, it makes sense.

That doesn't work. There's a character in the first 5 episodes that isn't in the unaired pilot that's an important part of "Man on the Street" (and for a large part of the rest of the series). Plus, some of the events in the unaired pilot are repeated in Man on the Street, though in different way involving different characters.

As weak as some of the first few standalones are, you can't skip or replace them with the pilot, since they have serialized elements in them.

The unaired pilot, while good on its own, exists outside the continuity of the actual series.

Yup. Pretty much.

All in all a very flawed show. But as a huge Whedon fan I'm gonna get this.

I'm not sure whether I like the cover art, or hate it.

Looks like the Blu-ray has an exclusive commentary by Tim Minear on the episode "Getting Closer" for anyone who is debating getting the Blu-ray or DVD.
