Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?
I actually emailed Leonard Maltin and got this response.
It is finished. While I am asked that all the time, the current management at the Disney Co., is not interested in continuing this series.
We had a good run and I'm very proud of what we accomplished.
Thanks for taking the time to ask.
Leonard

Well, damn. I guess streaming will be the way of the future and Disney would rather go that way.

I was hoping for a Chip n Dale set and an Alice in Wonderland set.
I know about CnD, but 3 or 4 of their shorts are not on the Mickey, Donald or Pluto sets.
AIW is so spread out. Get them on one set.

I have every one of the tins and they were/are some of the finnest DVD's ever produced. Engrossing, educational, and (mostly) fun for the whole family.
But ever since early in the run I've pined for some better format to present the animated shorts. It's educational to watch each disney character in chronological order and see him evolve, but watching the same character over and over gets old real fast. I'd love to own something that contained every disney short and could be "shuffled" like a playlist or allow me to make special playlists of all my kid's favorites or all the Christmas themed shorts, or whatever.

Maybe I'm thinking of a different one, but aren't they on the Disney Rarities set?

Always thought Treasures would've been a good way to put out Song of the South.

While not a Treasures release, VCI has put out a disc that has pretty solid quality and a bunch that weren't included on Rarities:

Here you go:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Comedies
There were 57 Alice shorts, all directed and produced by Walt Disney (and some animated by him). 16 are labeled as lost. Walt Disney Treasures only released 10 of them. Some others are released by other companies, and some of them are unreleased on DVD, apparently.
