Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

Does anybody know if the 3 lithographs are exclusive to this offer. Or if you buy it anywhere they are included?

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

I'd think that the lithos are exclusive to this offer. I checked out Amazon and they don't have it available when you buy the three. But that's my best guess.

Did anyone get a confirmation email from this site when ordering? I placed an order last weekend and never received an email about it

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

I just received the same offer in the mail, that I got in the email and ordered, and it says "Available to ship early beginning November 2, 2010 (official release date, November 30, 2010".

These are the lithographs you get for pre-ordering:

Waking Sleeping Beauty is such a good documentary. I really want that one.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

Got mine in the mail today. The Lithos are okay; they sealed the envelope they came in, though, which was annoying. Each of the dvds also come with some sort of "extra." Like a time line thing with El Grupo and another litho with Waking Sleeping Beauty.

What's the verdict on these titles?

Looks like the other two will show up shortly. Definitely want to know details about Saludos Amigos.

Someone on their forum said Saludos Amigos is uncut.

the commentary track is also equally fascinating. The New York Times thought of the three documentary releases, 'Walt and El Grupo' was the best of the bunch.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

Watched Waking SB last night and it is excellent. Really great footage from the early '80s, a period not well documented in Disney history. Well done, not too much of a white wash.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

I think I'm only in for the El Grupo release. The other two are interesting but that El Grupo has the added attraction of an actual feature being included.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

I have a comnplete collection of the Disney Treasuries but I've decided to hold off on these 3 releases this year. I consider them as the bonus features and the main feature is missing. Down the road I might consider Waking Sleeping Beauty

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

Just bought Waking Sleeping Beauty, El Grupo, and The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story from the Disney Movie Club for $47.02 (includes $4.18 CA tax). Cheaper than the current Amazon price of $61.47. I have satisfied my commitment so my offer was buy one title ($19.99) and get additional titles at 60% off ($7.98 for the other two) plus $6.93 S/H. The flyer I received in the mail said each comes with a lithograph (I think lithographs might come with these regardless of where you buy them). For those who haven't satisfied their commitment, they have a set of all three movies for 39.95 plus the same $6.93 S/H, still better than Amazon.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

As Jamie's Review indicates, Walt & El Grupo does include the original theatrical cut of Saludos Amigos. I tend to think Disney should've released the original theatrical cut of Saludos Amigos back when they did the double-feature, and included Walt & El Grupo as a bonus feature. Still, I'll probably pick this up eventually if only to get the theatrical cut of Saludos Amigos, but only if I can find it for a reasonable price.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

Buy all three for $46.xx on Amazon. Save $8 on 2 titles. Save $15 on all 3.

I'm seeing the following:

Buy two eligible titles, save $3.
Buy three eligible titles, save $8.
Buy four eligible titles, save $15.

You would have to buy one title twice to save $15. Price for three titles would be about $55. Maybe they made a mistake and you do get $15 off three.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

I added all three to my cart and it applied a $15 discount during checkout despite what the promo listed. I removed one title and the discount dropped to $8.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

Walt & El Grupo and the Sherman Bros are both currently playing on Starz. These are documentaries, hardly "Treasures", so will be skipping all 3. The only temptation is Saludos Amigos, but seeing Goofy smoke is not that important to me so I'll just watch my old Gold Collection release from 2000.

I did the same thing but it came to $42.84 since I don't live in CA. Thanks for mentioning this option.

Could have saved some money. My new offer is 50% off plus free S/H. $19.99 for first title, $9.98 for other two. Total of about $40 for all three (plus tax).

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 10?

sorry to resurrect this thread with no actual new news, but what's the story, has Disney Home Video stopped the series permanently?
