Hell Night (1981) - US vs UK release?
I'm curious if there was any difference in the current releases. It's kind of sad that it might actually be cheaper to import the UK DVD than to buy a DVD-R U.S. release from amazon.com. Which would you go for? Is the DVDR Anamorphic?

Just two days ago, I picked up the Anchor Bay version for $3 at second spin (B&M), used, but still sealed. If there isn't one close to you, you may want to try their site or FYE for a copy.

I have a short list of VHS tapes left to replace with DVDs and Hell Night is on it. Was it ever actually in print for real or just burn on demand? There's almost nothing in terms of ebay/marketplace/half.

It's a real release that can be found at Amazon. I bought mine in a 6 pack of horror from Anchor Bay many years back.

Well, if you can handle a region 2 disc, order it from amazon.co.uk. I just placed an order and it came out to $12.50(US) shipped. Amazon.com's is burn on demand and they want $19.99. WTF?

Absolutely agreed! I picked up Carny and did not realize it was a DVD-R for $19.00 at DD. PQ was good and it was anamorphic though-

Some people here seem to like paying out the ass for obscure titles though. The Warner Archive is one thing. They're providing us with movies there were never released before and can't be gotten any other way. They had to prepare those transfers, design the cover art, etc much like real releases. These Burn on demand titles that Amazon does, however, appear to just be burnt from a backup image of a pressed release from years ago. They have no business charging so much for them. The studio already pressed it and sold out of it, right? It's nothing new, it's nothing they had to spend time/money on to make available for burn on demand like Warner.
