I think I've got most of those matches on DVD already, including Angle-Lesnar, which I got off of 24/7.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

That 21st Century WWE dvd seems like a complete waste. How can they say anything on there about Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho and others, that already wasn't said on the Greatest 50 Superstars dvd that came out a while ago, let alone the guys who appeared on that AND the Greatest Stars of the 90s dvd. WWE is really reaching for dvd releases anymore, and quite frankly this one isn't one I am gonna get excited over.

I'm a huge dvd geek, but I could never justify dropping almost $300 on a single dvd. Unless Trish is going to blow me after personally delivering it to my house. Even then, probably a stretch.

Instead of doing these lame compilation sets, what do you think the odds are on releasing anthology sets of Starrcade or Halloween Havoc... I'd be all over those!

Slim to none I'd guess. The Nitro set was originally supposed to be in the same year by year format of the "Raw Beginning" release last year, but they even changed that to a Best of overall set. Granted, it has supposedly been selling very well, so it could lead to them doing more WCW themed releases, but they seem to really be into these "catch all" type compilation sets lately.

There's no way they should be doing a set like this so early in the century. They got another 89 years to go!

So they're telling me that they don't think there's going to be any stars greater than those on this set for the next 89 years. (then again, the way they've been booking people these days, there may not be any better stars than who is on here)

I didn't say there necessarily was. What is with you and dates/times, though? I fail to see why you get so up in arms about such minor and inconsequential things, however technically true your points may be. They're obviously trying to get people's money now, not 89 years from now. You and I both know they will just put out more similar titles as years pass. Is it redundant? Sure. It's a reality, though, and no one is forcing you to buy anything. Why be so bothered about what amounts to minutiae? I bet you freeze your batteries, right?

I highly recommend it. I still have the third disc to watch, but it's been solid so far.

Absolutely.

Don't listen to youtube reviews, specifically Gemini686 who basically trashed the DVD saying it has "proportional problems" and focusing too much on Luger, Savage, Flair, and the nWo on the first 2 discs, they didn't keep the integrity of the set such dubbing over Michael Buffer, making fun of the 4 Horsemen and other pointless issues.

That guy is probably the biggest loser on youtube.

He's not even on there anymore, he has closed down his account for like the 4th time in a year. I just finished the first disc, and I love it.

Steviebreech is posting his vids on his channel for some reason...before he closed the account again.

So far watched the first 2 discs and can't get enough, i hope with the high sales so far, this leaves an open door for more WCW releases.

Looking forward to the next edition of the Nitro DVDs whenever they do come out. Looking forward to watching the Steel Cage matches DVD set.

I agree, hope they have a Volume 2.

They could also release a compilation of matches from their big events like Halloween Havoc, Beach Blast/Bash at the Beach, Superbrawl, etc, since i doubt they will actually release full anthologies of WCW events.

They had a Starrcade one, so hopefully they build on and continue.

What i'm actually bummed about is when they scrapped Best of RAW Seasons 3 & 4 (95-96). I thought Vol. 1 and 2 were fantastic and an excellent way of reliving old school RAW.

I totally agree with Best of Raw, it is a great set but I can't believe it has been canceled due to low sales which does not make sense!

Same here, man...just as it was about to get into the really good stuff, too. I have the entire run of Raw on discs I did myself but I love the commercially released compilations and it is annoying when they start and stop on releases. The Survivor Series anthologies being scrapped still irks me, too.

I did not know the Survivor Series anthologies was scrapped but at least we have the first 2 volumes, it is still better than nothing at all
