Sadly, it was upconverted, but it still looked flawless. TCM-HD shows mostly HD but when they don't, it still is the highest quality SD without compromises.

Not only have I been enjoying Lost for the first time, but I've usually dug up the DVD Talk thread discussing the episode when it aired and have enjoyed reading thru the comments. Of course it's been a little tricky trying to use the search to locate the threads with the simple one word show title, but between the episode title, air date, etc I've usually managed to find it buried in the archives.

Oh, I'm also watching the three John Stahl films that Sirk remade, as well as the two direct homages by later filmmakers, Ali: Fear Eats the Soul and Far From Heaven.

Hit a major snag in my LOTR Challenge.
I can't find my Fellowship 4 disc extended set. I know I own it, don't think I lent it out, it isn't available at libraries, and it would take me at least 300 hours to search all the boxes where it might be hiding.
I can't watch the 4 commentaries of the extended releases without the beginning movie, and would rather not even watch the special features of the later two films out of order.
Crap. I was actually on schedule to finish the Challenge, but unless I get very lucky and find that set, I'm done.
I guess I could buy it again, but I pretty much refuse to re-buy something I know is here somewhere.

I've really been enjoying this challenge. I've been using not only to watch a few fun flicks, but also to upgrade several titles to Blu-ray. As such, I just ordered the recently released Blu-ray of Marked for Death (Seagal)......It also makes me wonder is some of the more obscure stuff will ever get a high def release or in some cases just a widescreen release. There are several Chuck Norris flicks for example that were released a while back in full screen.

I'm completely bombing this challenge. I think I just finished my fifth one for the whole month. School and work has pretty much crippled me more so than usual, which sucks since I had a ton of unseen movies I've been wanting to get to.

Finally finished watching Highlander. Goodness I forgot how disappointing season 6 was - watching it was like pulling teeth.

Switching my challenge to movies in top lists really helps after the exploitation challenge. Otherwise I'd still be watching the same types of things, for the most part.

I found my missing Fellowship set!
I figure I have approximately 61 more hours of special features to watch. For some reason, I can't watch special features at work. Not sure why I'm ok with watching films at work and not supplements, but I'm quirky that way.
6+ hours per day when I work almost every day the rest of the month may not be possible, but I'm going to try. Plenty of time to sleep after theJune July August September October Challenge.

Finished Crusade and it holds up really well. The order suggested by JMS made more sense than the broadcast order but still needs a bit of work. I hope to finish Daria tomorrow.

Then I took a "small" break to start watching the unwatched titles from icheckmovies.com, in order of the number of top listed entries. That was a real nice change of pace and for the most part, I don't have to worry about skipping anything with kids being around.
Now I'm addicted to checking stuff off at that site.

I didn't get to ANY movies last week (blame the awesome Nightmare On Elm Street documentary I recently got) so I might just intertwine my last two mini-challenges into one week.

I've finally crashed into the top 100 checkers-list at the icheckmovies site (Currently at #98) But I've already found out that I just can't sit comfy on a lead. It'll be gone in no time. Gotta try and go through one more big stretch til the end of the month!

My current mini-challenge is to finish The Deuce 20 list for 2nd place in the rankings. I have 30 minutes left of The Pom Pom Girls, which I'll finish after work today. I should be able to start and finish The Lady In Red during breaks and lunch today.
Then I only have The Psychic to watch. I ordered the DVD but it won't get here in time to watch today, so I have to pull out my VHS copy.
I should finish all 3 today and guarantee my 2nd place spot in the list
. Then it's back to top list entries.

I'm directly behind you in the rankings for the top 500 horror movies

Both Lady in Red and Sexplorer are nowhere near my vicinity. So who knows how long it'll take before I finally get to check those off. And I did have Pom Pom Girls ready to be checked off right when the B-Drive/In challenge was set to go, but Netflix decided to put it on "Save" at the last minute.

I hope you didn't buy Sexplorer, it's awful. Lady in Red has a budget and isn't bad as long as you aren't expecting a masterpiece. I'd put Pom Pom Girls between the two, leaning more towards Sexplorer.
edit: I wasn't thinking straight on how they do the rankings. I was thinking if someone got 1st, that anyone after that would be 2nd and such. I've been racing myself against nobody.

And then my Psychic tape was broken. DVD is coming today, so at least I don't have to put it off that long.

Looks like I'll finish my Challenge, only a few hours left on one of the appendix discs to go.
Amazingly, I'm not sick of LOTR, but appreciate it even more now. Haven't done the math yet, but I think it was about 200 hours of content.

I have two films left to watch to meet my Challenge goal (Frenzy and Family Plot), so I'll be done about four hours from now.
