I felt the same way at first, especially after enjoying the free benefits of DVD Spot. I reminded myself of a couple of things when considering the cost. One, it's a lifetime cost and not an annual fee. Two, I considered it an investment in the collection/hobby, much the same way folks spend money on their audio/video setup or DVD displays.

$30 dollars for a lifetime software that updates frequently. I'd say that's a great deal.

Re: DVD Profiler 3.6.0 Released 26 March

Is there a way to selectively and automatically not number "parent" entries, just child entries? I want each individual disk or package listing as one entry/number. For instance, Huff Season 1 has one entry for each disk. I want the four disks to be counted, but not the parent entry of "Huff Season 1".
I found how to do it manually, so I'm going to go through and hit None for the parent, delete any numbers for the child disks, then Reassign collection numbers by purchased date. But if there is an automatic way to do that, I'd love to find out.

You use the numbers for the child disc rather than the parent title? Do you count each individual disc in your collection? What do you do for a title that has multiple discs, but only one title? Like the vista series titles?
I dont put in any of the child entries. I only put in the parent entries. I dont really care to see a lsiting for each individual disc of a certain collection, as long as i have the parent title listed. I also dont really care how many physical discs i have in the collection, I just want to know how many titles I have in the collection. I believe that season sets of television shows should count as 1 in a collection, no matter the number of discs.

I don't use any child entries for TV shows, as well. I consider the whole season as 1 title. I do use child entries for box sets of movies so that I can track each one and I do consider them separate. Things like the Rocky set, Dirty Harry collection, or High School Reunion collection. However, I don't use numbers on any of the children just the parent set unless I break up a set to trade/sell a single title.

I get what you're saying. I only use numbers for the overarching titles as well. Where my system fails is on titles like the Godfather Collection, Back to the Future trilogy, etc. Those are really the only sets that I get, other than TV show seasons. So it is relatively easy to figure out what is in that particular set. I tend not to get actor or director collections. Those would get real confusing. Plus every actor/director set that comes out, I usually have at least one title from the box set already.
