Good news for Turtles fans. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is finally getting the DVD release that it deserves...however the bad news is that it's only in Germany.

Seriously? We get that lame Blu-Ray set last year, then this comes out and not in the US.

Pretty nice, but in this day and age, pretty measly set of special edition features, and no news of this version in HD. And this should be in the International forum...

I'd like special features and all, but I'd settle for a single sided disc. I like the movie, but I hate flipper discs.

It'll be available Stateside in no time. Just look at that Godfather Retored collection. Fasforward 1 1/2 year and Godfather 1 & 2 Sapphire BDs are available separately.

Hopefully we get one here in the States. It IS the 20th anniversary of the movie too. And maybe WB/New Line will give us a digibook Blu-ray as well.

Bad example....Godfather films are controlled and released by Paramount, TMNT films are Warner...two different studios, two different release strategies...

With our luck they'll just take the current BD disc and make it a digibook. WB has really been crappy lately.

Had this disc special ordered for me from Scarecrow Video and I really liked it. The movie has a nice transfer and a 5.1 English soundtrack. The commentary is informative and there aren't really any dull spots. It's in English with German subtitles. The deleted scenes are only in German and don't appear to actually be deleted scenes, but alternate German cuts where things were taken out by the censors. The movie itself still has everything in it that the U.S. release has. The alternate ending is in English with German subtitles and in pretty rough shape, but is an interesting watch.
