Help ID'ing Kung fu movie and finding on DVD

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. About ten years ago a friend and I bought a two pack of kung fu movies on VHS at blockbuster. One of the movies was about an assassin who killed a young boy's father, and spends the movie training the boy to one day kill him and take revenge. Throughout the movie the boy and assassin encounter a man in a mask. The vhs is lost and we can't remember what it was to find it on dvd. please help!

I am not sure I understand this right. The assassin killed the boys father and then trained that boy for years just to kill him for revenge? Revenge for what?

Sounds a lot like Heroes of Shaolin to me. Available in many fine public domain bargain sets.

That premise is actually a lot like man film we've seen. I chuckled at it a bit.

Revenge for killing the father. Basically, the assassin is training the boy so he can one day kill the assassin.
