Finally broke down and bought this for the wife for Christmas. Lowest price I could find was $98.00. Feel fairly good about this since Amazon never carried it this year at a gold box price. Did I pay to much or about right?

I paid £35 over here for it in supermarket chain ASDA, most places are charging upwards of £50 for it this side of the pond.

In my opinion, that's a great price! You get the discs from all 10 seasons repackaged (but with new disc art), all the original bonus features, plus a very nice book. It's a great series, and for $98 for all 10 seasons? That's a steal! I'd be surprised if it was available cheaper. At Target they have all 10 seasons available individually for $25 each. Buy them all and that's $250. Buy them used at FYE for $20 apiece and that's still $200. So yeah, I'd say that's a great price.

On Black Friday, I bought each of the 10 seasons for $8.99 (I believe they were the same price on Amazon?). So you really just paid $8 more and have them all nice and tidy in a single box. I'd say that price is just about right (and a pretty good deal at that)

Only reason I never bought this (or Seinfeld) is bc they are aired on TV (forget which channel, TBS maybe) in HD (16:9). If they reissued them in this format I'd definitely pick them up.

It was reported by Bill Hunt of The Digital Bits in his rumour page that the first season of Friends is expected to be released sometime in 2010 in blu-ray.
